I moved from America to London in 2016. Four years later, Ted Lasso arrived: the story of an American football coach who moves to England to manage a Premier League club, despite knowing almost nothing about the sport.
And honestly, I resisted it.
Everyone kept telling me to watch, but as a long-time Londoner, I thought I already got the gist. Then one evening, I agreed to one episode.
By the time Ted and Coach Beard were standing beside Tower Bridge, I was in.
I love Ted’s stubborn optimism, Rebecca’s iconicness, Roy’s permanently angry soft heart, Keeley, Jamie, Sam, Dani, Coach Beard and everyone else who makes AFC Richmond feel like a team worth rooting for.
It’s funny, yes, but also such a heartfelt show—and, I’ll admit, smarter than I expected.
Years later, I finally spent a day following the London locations for myself—from Tower Bridge to Paved Court, Richmond Green, the river and lunch at The Prince’s Head.
And as a London-based travel writer, of course I had to turn it into the route I would actually recommend: starting in central London, taking the District line to Richmond and giving the neighbourhood enough time to enjoy it without rushing.
With that said, here’s everything you need to know to do your very own self-guided Ted Lasso day in London, along with all the other London and UK locations from the show to add if you want to keep your pilgrimage going.

Where Was Ted Lasso Filmed?
Most of Ted Lasso was filmed in and around London, with the show’s most recognisable neighbourhood scenes shot in Richmond. Paved Court became Ted’s street, The Prince’s Head became the Crown & Anchor exterior and Richmond Green became the neighbourhood park.
The football scenes are much more spread out. Selhurst Park, home of Crystal Palace, became AFC Richmond’s Nelson Road, while SkyEx Community Stadium supplied the training ground and West London Film Studios held many of the interiors.
My honest recommendation: If you only have time for one area, choose Richmond. Ted’s front door, the pub, Richmond Green, the shop and the river are all in one easy stretch.
How to Visit the Ted Lasso Filming Locations in London: My Self-Guided Route
1. Begin By Tower Bridge
Start beside St Katharine Docks, where Ted and Coach Beard get their first unmistakable London backdrop in episode one: Tower Bridge across the Thames.
To get the exact shot, stand near St Katharine Pier or the river wall for the closest view.
Come early for quieter photographs. And don’t forget to snap a pic of the Tower of London beside you too (might as well!).
2. Take the District Line to Richmond—and Pick Up a Treat
Walk to Tower Hill Underground Station and board a westbound District line to Richmond.
The direct journey takes roughly 45 minutes when the line is running normally, but check TfL on the morning because not every District line train goes there. If it isn’t running directly, find an alternative route on the day using Citymapper.
Richmond Station ready for Ted Lasso Season 4!
At Richmond Station, choose Heidi Bakery for coffee and pastries or KNOT Pretzels & Coffee for something warm and easy to carry to the Green. Keep it small if you plan to have lunch at the pub.
For the earliest start, you can also go Black Sheep Coffee Richmond across the street from the station if you’re visiting before 8am, although if it’s after 8am, I would go to KNOT or Heidi Bakery instead.
3. Walk Through Paved Court for Ted Lasso’s Flat, B-Roll Scenes & The Official Ted Lasso Store
From Richmond Station, walk a short jaunt through the town centre to Paved Court. It’s a short pedestrian lane filled with small shops, hanging signs and bunting—and will instantly feel familiar the moment you turn into it.
Ted’s 9½ address is fictional, but the frontage is very real. Tolg Hair Studio is the working salon here, and you’ll see a small 9½ marker and Believe plaque outside.
Just remember to be respectful if you’re taking a photo in front of it, as it is an active business!
Along the same lane, you’ll recognise L’assaggino and Chango Empanadas in some of the b-roll from the show.
If you weren’t going to The Prince’s Head later, I would highly recommend dinner at L’assaggino or picking up an empanada from Chango—they’re both divine! Save for next time…
Then pop into the Official Ted Lasso Store Richmond (you’ll see it instantly in Paved Court) for AFC Richmond shirts, scarves, mugs, footballs, Believe signs and the pink-boxed “Biscuits with the Boss” shortbread.
4. Slow Down on Richmond Green
Next—and quite literally just a few steps from Paved Court and The Prince’s Head—you’ll find Richmond Green.
True to reality, this would be Ted’s real-life neighbourhood park; he could leave his front door, pass the pub and reach the grass all in a couple of minutes.
This is where your picnic bits come in!
The Green appears throughout the series, including the football scenes with Shannon, Roy coaching Phoebe’s team, buskers, supporters and plenty of conversations away from the club.
Take your station treat onto the grass and take a fan photo with the pub, telephone boxes or Paved Court behind you.
5. Have Pub Lunch at The Prince’s Head
The Crown & Anchor exterior is The Prince’s Head, a Fuller’s pub at 28 The Green, and is probably the Ted Lasso filming location you’ll recognise the most.
Outside, the benches where Ted and Coach Beard have their heart-to-hearts, the two red telephone boxes and the view across the park appear repeatedly, although the interiors of Mae’s familiar bar were built at West London Film Studios.
The pub knows exactly why fans arrive. There’s AFC Richmond memorabilia, a little Ted Lasso photo corner and, when I visited, genuinely lovely staff. I ordered the fish and chips and would happily get them again.
Book in advance, especially at weekends. And if you’d like to sit at the ‘Ted Lasso table’, I’d politely call in advance. The staff is super friendly (although if it’s not free, you can always ask to take a picture there).
Just bear in mind that they open at 10am on weekends and 11am or 12pm on weekdays, so if you’re visiting early, I’d get some Ted Lasso photos on the iconic bench and Paved Court, then come back post Richmond Hill and Riverside when they’re open for lunch.
6. Follow the Richmond Riverside Locations
After lunch, use Ted Lasso filming locations as an excuse to explore Richmond Riverside.
In no particular order, you’ll pass Buccleuch Passage, Old Palace Lane, Richmond Bridge and the Embankment—which all appear as backdrops in quieter walks, dates and conversations in the show, along with the exterior of Richmond Theatre.
There were also some restaurant scenes at Gaucho Richmond and Tapas Brindisa Richmond farther along the riverside.
7. Continue to Richmond Hill
If the weather is good, continue up to Richmond Hill. The streets and viewpoint appear in the series, but I’d make the climb even without the Ted Lasso connection for the stunning view over the Thames and Petersham Meadows.
And if you’re extra keen—continue into Richmond Park!
8. Add Twickenham for the Extended Route
For even more locations, continue into neighbouring Twickenham, which the show often folds into its version of Richmond.
The riverside beside Twickenham Rowing Club appears in scenes with Roy, Keeley and Phoebe, whilst Church Street turns up elsewhere in the series.
Mojo also became the fictional Dolls of England shop visited by Rebecca and Nora, The Press Room supplied a coffee-shop location and Church Walk was used for the Christmas visit to Bernard’s house.
And make sure to use it as an excuse to see the grand Naked Ladies’ Statue right off Church Street.
What about AFC Richmond Stadium?
If you want to take your Ted Lasso day one step further, add in Selhurst Park—the home of Crystal Palace FC and the real stadium used as AFC Richmond’s Nelson Road.
It’s nowhere near Richmond, so I’d treat it as a separate final stop rather than part of the walking route, but it’s absolutely worth the journey if seeing AFC Richmond’s home ground is high on your list.
Check the official Selhurst Park visitor information before heading over, and keep in mind access may be limited on match and event days. You can also book an official Selhurst Park stadium tour if you want to see more than the exterior.

If you’re a serious fan, Richmond and Twickenham hold plenty of smaller locations beyond the main walk—from Rebecca and Nate’s house exteriors to Christmas doorsteps, cafés and parts of Dr Sharon’s cycle route. Some are private homes or useful fan stops rather than places to linger, so make sure to enjoy them from the public pavement.

AFC Richmond is fictional, but the stadiums are very real. Selhurst Park does most of the work as Nelson Road, while Wembley, Craven Cottage, Stamford Bridge and other Premier League grounds appear for cup ties and away matches.

Should You Book a Ted Lasso Tour?
You can absolutely follow the Richmond route independently. But I’d consider this 2.5-hour guided Ted Lasso walking tour if you want the episode references, Rebecca’s house and smaller riverside locations pointed out as you go.
In other words, self-guide for a slower day with lunch and photographs, but take a tour if time is tight and you want to explore with other fans.

Where to Stay Near Ted Lasso Filming Locations
If you’re keen to overnight it in Richmond for your Ted Lasso day (which I highly suggest), I personally recommend Harbour Hotel Richmond.
I’ve stayed several times, love coming back for spa days and would choose it in a heartbeat for a Ted Lasso weekend.
It sits uphill towards Richmond Park rather than directly beside Paved Court, which works nicely for a longer stay, with Richmond town centre and the river just a few minutes in one direction, and Richmond Park just a few minutes in the other.

Oh absolutely yes—especially when you make Richmond the main event. Ted’s lane leads to the pub, the pub faces the Green and the river is only a short walk away, so the main locations really are in one neighbourhood.
In other words, it’s a brilliant London day out in and out of the show!
