As a bit of an Anglophile, there’s little British movies I haven’t watched.
From Bridget Jones to Notting Hill, watching love unfold in London is one of my favorite past times, and so, of course, Love Actually makes that list. A feel-good Christmas classic, Love Actually follows the lives of dozens of Londoners around the holidays.
From romance to tragedy, Love Actually has it all, and if you’re in London for any amount of time, you owe it to yourself to find the filming locations. Without further ado, here are all the Love Actually filming locations in London:
Central Court| Somerset House, Strand, WC2
Now if you want the full Love Actually experience, you’re going to want to see it all. This includes glorious shots of the Somerset House appearing throughout the film. Take a wander down Central Court and feel like you’ve entered the movie itself.
Heathrow Airport | Longford
Travellers embracing, Christmas carols and heartfelt goodbyes. The iconic Love Actually airport scene makes is worth the journey to Heathrow where you can soak up all the Hugh Grant feels (yes please) and even pair it with a trip!
Selfridges | 400 Oxford Street, W1
Harry’s infamous necklace buy for his assistant Mia takes place in Selfridges — London’s most famed department store. If you want to feel like his unassuming wife Karen when she meets him after, head to St.Christopher’s Place, the quaint piazza nearby. Oh, Mia.
City Hall & Gabriel’s Wharf | The Queen’s Walk, Southwark, SE1
You’re bound to make this walk in London anyhow. But if you want to see some Love Actually action up-close, head to the Queen’s Walk. There you’ll find the tormented singer, Billy Mack’s office at City Hall, and the scene with Daniel’s heart-felt talk with his son.
Whiteleys Centre| Queensway, Bayswater, W2
You may recognize some Love Actually shots from this galleried department store, the Whiteley’s Center. Unfortunately, the building closed in 2018 (converting into a hotel), but you can still pay it a visit for the memories.
Heat Radio, Mappin House | 4 Winsley Street, Fitzrovia, W1
Billy Mack’s interview debacle can be found in the heart of Fitzrovia. Heat Radio to be exact, right off of Oxford Street. His record hit Christmas single can also be found 20 minutes away in Westway Studios in Notting Hill.
10 Downing Street | Westminster, SW1
You can find the Prime Minister (i.e Hugh Grant’s) pretend office here. Although due to security the actual set was built in a studio.
26-27 Great Sutton Street | Clerkenwell, EC1
Where Juliet calls Mark to ask if he’s got any shots of the wedding (and he realizes he’s deliriously in love with her).
Unfortunately, it sits as a solicitor’s office now, but that shouldn’t stop you from checking the former ‘Nile Street’ gallery and the neighborhood of the classic British film About a Boy!
Grosvenor Chapel |South Audley Street, Mayfair, W1
Peter and Juliet’s wedding in the film did in fact take place in a church! Grosvenor’s Chapel to be exact. A beautiful Anglican church, fit for a Love Actually wedding.
102 Poplar Road | Herne Hill, SE24
Remember that scene where Hugh Grant (i.e the PM) knocks on every door in London to find Natalie’s flat? Well, if you want to see the winner up close, just head to Herne’s Hill!
St Paul’s Clapham | Rectory Grove, Clapham, SW4
The tear jerking scene of Daniel’s wife’s funeral can be found at St Paul’s Clapham, just South of the Thames. Don’t forget tissues.
Oxo Tower Wharf|Barge House Street, Southwark, SE1
When Mark leaves Juliet her wedding video, he exits through the courtyards of the Oxo Tower Wharf. A prominent building on Southbank and a movie location in Thor!
2a Blenheim Road | Turnham Green, W4
When he’s not thinking about his Portuguese beau, you can find Jamie Bennett at his London abode on Blenheim Road. Well, not really. But the movie location at least (this is also where he found his girlfriend having an affair with his brother).
Ark Putney Academy | Pullman Gardens, Putney, SW15
You can’t forget the Christmas carols!
Relive the most memorable Love Actually scene with a visit to the Art Putney Academy. Although there won’t be any school Christmas concerts going on given the buildings close, you can still imagine the exposed secret girlfriends and dancing lobsters!
27 St Luke’s Mews, Notting Hill, W11
We can’t forget Mark’s declaration of cue card love. Located at the infamously beautiful St Luke’s Mews, if there’s any Love Actually movie location you need to see, this is it.
