How to Get to Wembley

You can easily get to Wembley by taking the tube on the Metropolitan or Jubilee lines to Wembley Park station, the Bakerloo line to Wembley Central station, or the national rail services to Wembley Stadium station.

➡️ Is it worth visiting Wembley?

Of course! Not only is the iconic stadium hosting amazing events all year, including the biggest and fullest concerts in London, but the area also offers a diverse cultural, food and shopping experiences.

➡️ What is Wembley famous for in London?

Wembley is most famous for the huge Wembley Stadium, one of the biggest venues in the country for football matches and music concerts.

➡️ Is Wembley a good area to stay in London?

Wembley can be a great area to stay in London (here’s my recommendation), especially if you’re here for sports or music (you’ll thank me after you see +80,000 attendants trying to take the tube at the same time). But it’s also really accessible to go anywhere.

➡️ What are some things to do in Wembley at night?

My favourite time to visit Wembley is when night falls. There are tons of restaurants and bars to go to! Keep reading if you want to discover more things to do in Wembley.

1. See a Game or Concert at Wembley Stadium

Wembley is best known for its iconic, impressive and huge Wembley Stadium. Actually, it may be one of the most famous football stadiums in the world.

The original stadium was built in 1923 and was known as the Empire Stadium. But in 2007 it was reconstructed again and it now has seen incredible events like the Olympic Games, FA Cup Finals, and major music concerts (Beyonce, anyone?!).

Make sure you check their website constantly or subscribe to a newsletter if you don’t want to miss the best events in London. The tickets sell out as quickly as the tube moves!

2. BOXPARK Wembley

The famous BOXPARK has a venue in the busy Wembley, just a stone’s throw from Wembley Stadium. And you won’t want to miss this one out.

Despite having over 20 different street food and drink stalls in the refurbished shipping containers, it’s more than just a (finger-licking) place to eat in Wembley. It’s a great place to go just for entertainment.

With a capacity of up to 2,000 people, you can find a range of events in BOXPARK, like sports match screenings (you’ll love the cheers from passionate fans of all ages), wellness activities and, of course, live music.

Besides, its location makes it the perfect spot for before or after your show/match.

3. Shop in Wembley Park

Wembley Park is the new development in the area, one that became a synonym of entertainment, fun and, of course, shopping.

You’ll find options for everything: from fashion, beauty and technology, to handmade crafts, gifts and homeware.

Its offer ranges from established brands to local vendors, including the popular London Designer Outlet where you can find the biggest international names with savings up to 85%, and the Wembley Park Market to support smaller businesses.

While you’re there, you may want to keep an eye open for community events and happenings. In the holidays, for example, they have the cosy Winter in Wembley. But they also do dance classes for everyone to join in!

4. Mapesbury Dell

The award-winning park Mapesbury Dell may not be in Wembley, but it’s close enough and completely worth the visit.

It’s located in the Mapesbury Conservation Area between Cricklewood and Willesden Green, making it easy to get there by tube in less than 30 minutes.

The park may be small, but that’s exactly why it’s so charming and calm.

You’ll be able to explore meticulously the beautiful mosaic of flowers, plants and trees; spend hours next to the duck-pond (and enjoy looking at little ones interact with them); and maybe experience the community spirit in an activity or event.

5. BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir

Famously referred to as the Neasden Temple, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir London is one of the largest and most spectacular Hindu temples outside India.

With a quick look you’ll understand why many say it’s a masterpiece of traditional Hindu design. It was originally carved in India from 2,000 tons of Italian marble and 2,800 tons of Bulgarian limestone, then assembled in London.

Today, it’s a key place of worship for followers of Hinduism in the UK. But it’s also a gorgeous place that provides a serene atmosphere to anyone that wants to meditate or learn of spirituality, regardless of their faith or backgrounds.

The admission is free, and they also offer guided tours for those interested in learning more about the temple and its rituals.

6. Wembley Restaurants

Like I said before, Wembley offers a delicious slice of almost every part of the world with all the international restaurants and food vendors. The options are limitless, so here’s just a list of some (but definitely not all) of the best in the area.

Wembley Tandoori

You must know that in London you can find the best Indian and Nepalese food. And in Wembley, this is the option that will make you feel in South Asia. If you’re hungry, get the Tandoori Mix Grill and have a little bit of everything!

Smoky Boys

Located in BOXPARK, these are the guys that know that a good BBQ can get a huge smile. Trust me, all the meaty dishes are smokin’ hot. You don’t even have to think too much, go for the delicious Steak & Chips and you’re sorted.

Mama Jacq’s

For someone who’s not living with her mom in London, I can say this is one of those places where you feel that type of love through the food. This Caribbean woman welcomes everyone willing to experience the familiar warmth of her hometown with the best dishes.

Big Moe’s Diner

Remember when I said that Wembley brings a slice of other countries? Well, this American diner really takes you to the US with its classic decoration, the home-grilled burgers with crispy fries, and the delicious milkshakes that you need to slurp loudly with a straw to get it all down. Ahhh…

Pasta Remoli

For authentic and delicious homemade pasta, this casual spot is the gem of Wembley. Once you’re there, it won’t take long for you to enjoy your customised dish. Or, if you prefer a signature, the Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli is the way to go.

Chain Restaurants in Wembley

Being very popular and busy with their constant events, Wembley is blessed with the all-time favourite restaurant chains. Some of them are Nando’s, Pizza Express, Wagamama and TGI Fridays. Or Pret a Manger for something reliable and quick.

7. Wembley Pubs

With a lot of football and live music fans in the area every week, you can bet you’ll find the best pubs and restaurants for a pre or after drink of celebration.

The White Horse

The star of the show (literally) if you’re heading to an event or match in the Stadium or in the Wembley Arena, as it’s right next to them. The pub also offers all-day dining, so head there early and be ready to see some excited people!

The Torch

This is a popular pub among football fans due to its proximity to the Wembley Stadium, making it the perfect spot to soak up the pre-match atmosphere. Expect loud chants!

The Corner House

A stylish and modern pub with a bit more of a local vibe, but also super conveniently located close to Wembley Park. It was previously a small Irish shop, so the feel is very different from other pubs in the city. They also show all major sports!

Barrel & Corner

This lovely pub offers a jolly atmosphere, has some of the best prices in the area and a super friendly staff that makes you feel so welcome and looked after. Head here if you’re looking for something a bit less busy than the rest.
