As much as I love London’s most well-known neigh As much as I love London’s most well-known neighbourhoods, if you’re ready to go beyond Covent Garden and Soho, here’s some of my favourite local London neighbourhoods to know about 🏡

📍Southall

In the 1950s and 60s, people from across South Asia — including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh settled in Southall for work in factories, transport, and industries linked to Heathrow. Over time, it’s become one of London’s most culturally interesting neighbourhoods, shaped by migration, community, and long-standing family-run businesses.

What to do in Southall 📌 SAVE:

🥭 Start your day at Saravana Bhavan

131–139 South Rd, Southall UB1 1NX

A South Indian staple — the dosas are huge, and they do a great mango lassi

🛍️ Wander South Road and The Broadway

South Rd / The Broadway, UB1

Browsing here is an activity in itself — think jewellery shops, fabric stores, spices, sweets, and bridalwear. I was saree/sari-spotting while prepping for an upcoming India trip 🇮🇳 going to Mumbai, Goa and Kerala for a wedding, so let me know if you have any tips!

🏛️ Visit Himalaya Palace

Originally opened in the 1920s as a cinema, Himalaya Palace later became one of Southall’s most important community landmarks. Pop in for a shop, events or maybe even a haircut…

🍛 End the day at Butt Karahi

2–4 King St, Southall UB2 4DA

For rich Pakistani comfort food, be sure to have a mint tea too!

Let me know if you’ve been to Southall before or if it’s going on your list!

Happy Londoning,

Let’s go on a countryside spa break, ladies 🌳 Let’s go on a countryside spa break, ladies 🌳🧖🏽‍♀️ (and gents x)

This one’s an easy 30 minutes by train from London to Milton Keynes Central, followed by a short 15-minute taxi, to a beautiful 4-star manor house tucked away in the Buckinghamshire countryside.

Horwood House has a spa with a pool, steam room and sauna, two restaurants serving British and European-inspired cuisine, and of course afternoon tea — making it a really lovely option for a relaxed countryside escape without needing a car. Prices start from just £80 a night, with plenty of spa packages available too.

Let me know if you have any Qs, and head to my bio to check out dates for yourself ✨

📍 Horwood House, Mursley Rd, Little Horwood, Milton Keynes MK17 0PH // @horwoodhouse · Media Stay

And just like that, we’re 28 🎂🙋🏽‍♀️ in yearly (and very Capricorn) tradition, here’s 28 lessons I learned over the past 28 years:

1️⃣ Don’t ever be afraid to dream

2️⃣ Trust your intuition, it’s usually right (it’s what made me move to London!)

3️⃣ Value your work and time

4️⃣ & make time for people you feel good being around

5️⃣ Comparing yourself to others doesn’t serve you

6️⃣ Gratitude is v important

7️⃣ Eat organic where you can

8️⃣ Don’t stress about carbs

9️⃣ Have a treat!

🔟 Find fitness you love

1️⃣1️⃣ And friends you love

1️⃣2️⃣ Standout online by being yourself over trends

1️⃣3️⃣ Everyone has the ability to teach you something

1️⃣4️⃣ Don’t take champagne problems seriously

1️⃣5️⃣ FaceTime your family more

1️⃣6️⃣ Invest and save and pay off your student loans (a real one ahah)

1️⃣7️⃣ Don’t gather your joy and happiness from external things

1️⃣8️⃣ You don’t need to achieve to deserve love

1️⃣9️⃣ Singing and dancing (even if you feel silly) is v important

2️⃣0️⃣ And books

2️⃣1️⃣ And art, tv shows, and movies that make you think

2️⃣2️⃣ Wake up telling yourself it’s going to be a good day, and end it asking yourself what’s something nice that happened today (it’s mood boost magic)

2️⃣3️⃣ Not all friendships are meant to last, and that’s OK!

2️⃣4️⃣ Follow your own timeline and goals

2️⃣5️⃣ Always make time to explore where you live (and beyond if you can 🌍)

2️⃣6️⃣ Don’t change yourself to be more likeable to others

2️⃣7️⃣ If you don’t see yourself in something, be it instead!

2️⃣8️⃣ & life is short, so squeeze everything you can from it 🍋

And with that, I’m OOO for the holidays ✈️🇩🇪 (and my real birthday tomorrow 😉)

So excited to keep Londoning in 2026, and continue this crazy journey of being a creator — wishing you a lovely, safe and fun break with your family and friends, and I’ll see you next year!!

Happy Londoning,

Is it worth it to have an improbable dream? 🙋 Is it worth it to have an improbable dream?

🙋🏽‍♀️ 7 years old: Started writing poems and kept journals, would act & sing with my sisters and family.

🙋🏽‍♀️ 15 years old: Started a blog and got my first DSLR camera, would sneak out from my NJ suburb to NYC (sorry mom!) and take photos, fell in love with the thought of living a creative life.

🙋🏽‍♀️ 18 years old: Told myself pursuing a creative career or degree was unrealistic, but still took a chance in a different way with a move to London — studied Public Health.

🙋🏽‍♀️ 21 years old: Graduated with 0 desire to continue what I studied, worked in social media/marketing part-time as a student and loved it. Decided to switch careers. Moved to Shanghai for a year. Started my blog, again.

🙋🏽‍♀️ 22 years old: Moved back to London, started working for startups and got my MBA. Realised other women like me had turned their passion into a career. Decided to take a chance on myself to too… Made ‘I will be a full-time London travel blogger’ my permanent screensaver and treated blogging and content creation like my life’s work.

🙋🏽‍♀️ (almost) 28 years old: & remembering the day I quit my job at 24 to take a chance on myself as a full-time creative. Since then I’ve written 8 travel guides, been on the BBC, featured on USA Today, did a travel episode on Recipe TV, worked with the Mayor of London, dozens of UK and European tourism boards, collaborated with hundreds of local London businesses, including women-owned independents and local charities I care about, wrote 500+ articles, made 1,000+ videos and worked with 200+ brands.

A caveat to note that of course luck, timing and privilege (for example, passport privilege) play a part. But so does believing I could do it in the first place.

We all have a dream that others or even worse, ourselves, label as improbable. But a reminder that sometimes improbable dreams do come true 💛

Living in London comes with a lot of assumptions — especially if you’re moving here from abroad. But after nearly 10 years in this city, I’ve realised so many of the stereotypes people repeat about Londoners just…aren’t true.

Some are outdated, some come from films, and some just miss what daily life here actually feels like. So here are a few I don’t agree with — from someone who’s lived, worked, commuted, queued, and properly settled into London life (for the most part 🚇)

Let me know what London stereotypes you agree or disagree with in the comments 🤔

Think a 90-minute ride across London’s top sights…all while eating mini pastries, Christmas sandwiches and unlimited tea. A dream!
