1. Wine and Dine on Charlotte Street

The popular Charlotte Street is home to some of the finest restaurants, being Fitzrovia’s premier destination for gastronomic delights. So if you want to impress your taste buds, you can’t miss these spots.

ROKA

With food as remarkable in flavour as in presentation, this captivating world of contemporary Japanese cuisine in Fitzrovia will engage you with robata-style cooking and its sleek yet comfortable setting.

Mere

This is where creative menus are developed in Fitzrovia. Lead by the renowned chef Monica Galetti, each dish is an elegant symphony of flavours, textures and colours, with seasonal and international ingredients.

Ouisa Charlotte Street

Savour the vibrancy of the Mediterranean in this charming Greek-Cypriot restaurant, where the fusion menu takes you on a journey across Europe’s southern coastline.

Six by Nico London

This restaurant is stunningly inventive, as they’re the only ones to change their menu every six weeks! (which of course means you’ll need to keep coming back). Each experience narrates a unique story, from an exploration of international cuisine to an artistic interpretation of daily life.

Kazu

Immerse yourself in the authenticity and elegance of traditional Japanese cuisine and minimalistic design, with expertly crafted sushi, sashimi and other delectable specialty dishes.

Indian YMCA

Low-key and wonderful this is one of my favourite Indian restaurants in London. Right in the heart of Fitzrovia with an all-you-can-eat buffet for under £20!

2. BT Tower

The iconic BT Tower stands proud as a symbol of Fitzrovia’s skyline and serves as an intriguing piece of London’s telecommunications history.

Once the tallest structure in London (before The Shard came to claim that position), the tower offers an opportunity to gaze upon its futuristic form and appreciate its impressive engineering feats.

Even if that’s not your thing, you’d be amazed to know that this breathtaking tower is referenced in one of Coldplay’s most iconic songs — Fix You!

Yes, UCL students are extremely proud to say that the beautiful lyrics “lights will guide you home” are inspired from the iconic view from the top floor of the Student Centre. If you don’t know, the popular band met while studying there.

Although it’s not typically open to the public, you can certainly admire its architectural prowess from the streets below. And hum the song under your breath!

3. FRAME (Move Your Frame)

ArtHouse, Unit 1 York Wy, N1C 4AS

Inject some fitness into your fun things to do in Fitzrovia experience with an invigorating workout session at FRAME.

The fitness studio boasts an extensive range of classes to offer something for all abilities and preferences. From yoga and Pilates to dance and boxing. You’ll definitely find a way to move your body!

4. Fitzrovia Chapel

Discover a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the neighbourhood: the enchanting Fitzrovia Chapel.

This Grade II listed building is famous for its stunning neo-gothic architecture and fascinating history, as it was once the chapel of the former Middlesex Hospital.

Perfect for moments of quiet contemplation or admiration of incredible design, a visit to this sanctuary offers an idyllic breath from the city bustle. And they offer free guided tours, if you’re interested.

5. Dominion Theatre

268-269 Tottenham Ct Rd, W1T 7AQ

No list of things to do in a London neighbourhood is complete without a fun visit to the local theatre. Except the local theatre in Fitzrovia is the huge, historic and popular Dominion Theatre.

Known for hosting internationally acclaimed shows, the venue presents a memorable backdrop for enjoying world-class theatrical productions, with its preserved Art Deco style that’ll make any architecture lover sigh.

You can check the current musical on their website, and get tickets from there or other popular sites like TodayTix and London Theatre Direct.

6. Fitzrovia Bars & Pubs

The bars & pubs scene in Fitzrovia is as impressive as the dining experience. So make sure you stay until dark to enjoy an innovative drink. Here’s some of my favourites!

Mr. Fogg’s Tavern

Inspired by the well-travelled Mr. Fogg from Jules Verne’s “Around the World in Eighty Days”, this Victorian-style pub invites you into a world of splendid cocktails and British ales in an eccentric ambiance.

London Cocktail Club

Experience a mixology masterclass at the upscale establishment, popular for its intelligently creative cocktails. From masterfully blended classics to exotic new creations, every drink is like a mini celebration.

The Newham Arms

Dating back to 1730 and brimming with character, this one firmly holds its place as one of the treasured traditional pubs of Fitzrovia. You’ll be drinking your pint at the same place as the famous George Orwell!

7. Italian Bear Hot Chocolate

29 Rathbone Pl, W1T 1JG

For a cold day in Fitzrovia (and even for a hot one, who cares?), there’s nothing like a luxurious cup of Italian Bear Hot Chocolate.

This incredible place is known to serve London’s best hot chocolate since 2012, as they develop their own recipes in-house, rooted in Italian heritage.

Here’s where you can find the Instagram and TikTok famous “Triple Chocolate”, with which you’ll cover yourself like a 2 year old — and you won’t care!

8. Aperol Spritz Time at Conchiglia

125 Great Titchfield St., W1W 6RZ

Gather your best crew and step into the vibrant atmosphere that Conchiglia offers to embrace Italy’s iconic aperitif but with a (huge) twist.

The bubbly Aperol Spritz doesn’t come in your regular size during the weekends at this place… and when I mean it doesn’t come in regular size, I mean it can provide for the whole table. Although I doubt you’ll share your 2 litre drink….

So while you’re getting up to all your cool things to do in Fitzrovia don’t forget to take a break and sit down to enjoy the restaurant’s warm ambience, all while sipping your one glorious refreshing drink (I think it’s safe to say you probably won’t have another one).

Pair it with delicious, authentic Italian cuisine and you’ll officially travel to the hot side of Europe.

9. Explore Fitzrovia’s Mews

fitzrovia mews

Venture off the beaten path and immerse yourself in the picturesque mews of Fitzrovia.

Tucked away from the crowded streets, these charming alleys boast cobbled lanes and attractive façades, providing a snapshot into Fitzrovia’s unique elegance and history.

The best spots to do so happen to be moments from Charlotte Street and Goodge Street Station, at Grafton Mews and Bourlet Close.

This is one of my favourite bits to sightsee in London, giving you a true insight into the neighbourhood’s personality.

10. The Cartoon Museum

63 Wells St, W1A 3AE

Celebrate Britain’s rich cartoon history and expand your artistic horizons with a visit to the quirky The Cartoon Museum.

This is one of the many fun things to do in Fitzrovia if not the most, as the museum museum showcases the power of laughter and wit, creating an enjoyable and interactive experience for all ages.

Through exhibitions, workshops, and events, they invite all families, schools and youth groups to engage and get inspired by the comics and cartoons in their collection.

It’s a blink‑and‑you‑miss it type of experience!

11. Lush Spa Oxford Street

175-179 Oxford St, W1D 2JS

Indulge in a rejuvenating sensorial journey at the always‑fresh‑smelling Lush Spa Oxford Street.

This place is home of the bath bomb and a significant creative lab that works hard to craft perfect formulas for your skin, hair and pleasure. So, yes, your skin’s in good hands here.

This one’s the biggest one in London with over 3 floors where you’ll be able to choose between 12 different treatments and consultations.

Offering one-of-a-kind pampering infused with their unique handmade products, you’ll find yourself in a world of relaxation and serenity designed to restore the body’s balance and revitalize the mind.

In the fast‑paced London, this place comes as a sanctuary.

P.S. – Be sure to pop by Oxford Street and the hidden Christopher’s Place after!

12. British Museum

Great Russell St, WC1B 3DG
british museum near fitzrovia

Although nestled in the heart of neighbouring Bloomsbury, the extraordinary British Museum is just a stone’s throw from Fitzrovia.

Boasting an extraordinary collection of ancient artefacts, the museum provides visitors with a window into world history and human civilization, making it a must-visit cultural attraction.

Make sure you don’t miss The Rosetta Stone, The Elgin Marbles from the Parthenon, and the Egyptian mummies. But if you can, it’s better to spend as many hours as you can. The list of treasures is endless!
