Restaurants I tried (and loved) this month in London ⬇️

From a smoky tartare in Soho to a cardamom bun I can’t stop thinking about…

📍Firebird, Soho – 29 Poland St, W1F 8QR

A chic wine bar meets open-fire kitchen, inspired by Mediterranean flavours and started by two friends after a trip through Georgia. Try the pork chops, tuna tartare and sourdough!

📍Noreen, St Christopher’s Place – 23 Barrett St, W1U 1BF

Middle Eastern food with amazing flavour and generous portions. The cardamom buns are unreal.

📍Lina Stores, Soho – 51 Greek St, W1D 4EH

Yes, it’s a classic — but the Amalfi lemon linguine and the hidden cocktail bar downstairs are gorgeous every time.

Let me know which one you’re most excited to try 🤔

Happy Londoning,

The things you won’t see on ‘American abroad’ social media ⬇️

❌ No matter how hard you try…you will never be British.

Despite English being both of our native languages (and of course, an extremely linked culture), British culture can take a lifetime to fully integrate into — and even then, you’ll never be considered ‘British’.

👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏼Outside of being in a relationship with a Brit, it can be difficult to integrate into British friend groups.

Most Brits tend to have friends from childhood or sixth form that they keep for life — or, if you’re lucky enough to have moved for uni, the same applies. Otherwise, outside of falling in love with someone British or having great coworkers, it can be difficult — but not impossible!

Especially in a London context, where there are plenty of British people new to London too, looking for connections.

✈️Once you experience the ease of European travel, you will become addicted and never want to move back home.

Living in the UK from 18 (I’m 27 now), a £5 flight to Toulouse in my second year of uni forever changed my life — and I’ve been obsessed with short Europe breaks ever since.

Going from a $300 flight to get state-to-state vs. £20 to get to a whole new country is hard to replace…

💰And it literally does not matter how long you live abroad — you will always have to file taxes, and in some cases, pay taxes in the US…forever.

Unless it’s over a certain amount, you’ll just file — but still, it’s something you’ll need to think about and plan for every year. And if you’re someone like me who has completely relocated, then it’s truly a lifetime task!

💍 And you’ll miss events, weddings, births, and birthdays constantly in exchange for your delusional dream of living or building a life in a new country that’s not your own — and wonder why you even moved 3,000 miles away in the first place.

But in my experience, it’ll be worth it in the end…

Let me know if you relate to any of these x

What NOT to do on a trip to Malta…

Okay, listen — if you’re heading to Malta, I highly suggest you don’t:

🚫Stay at the gorgeous Barceló Fortina Malta hotel

🚫 Take a seaside yoga class on Manoel Island (you might just become a morning person)

🚫 Learn how to make traditional Maltese cuisine with local legend Pippa Mattei (it’s too tasty)

🚫 Go wine tasting at Meridiana Wine Estate (you’ll never want to leave 🍷)

🚫 Hop on a private boat to St Peter’s Pool (far too much sun, hidden caves and beautiful views)

And above all… don’t book with @jet2holidays, because that would mean:

 ✅ Flights
 ✅ Hotel
 ✅ 22kg checked baggage
 ✅ 10kg hand luggage
 ✅ Return transfers
✅ And just a £60pp deposit to get started

All covered for your trip ✈️

So yeah… best to avoid it all.

(Unless you’re into stress-free travel sunshine, slow mornings, and really, really good wine.)

Happy travels,

One of my favourite (and very British 🇬🇧) th One of my favourite (and very British 🇬🇧) things to do? Visit a lovely stately home. If you’re looking to step into Britain’s grand history, visiting one of these countryside gems is an absolute must.

What exactly is a stately home? Traditionally a big, beautiful country house once owned by the aristocracy — usually full of art, grandeur, and a garden you’ll want to move into. Here’s a few of my favourite for your UK bucket list [SAVE for later 📌]

🏛️ Osborne House – Isle of Wight

York Ave, East Cowes PO32 6JX

Queen Victoria’s summer retreat with Italian-style architecture, a private beach (!), and royal family life away from Buckingham.

🏰 Blenheim Palace – Oxfordshire

Woodstock OX20 1PS

Where Baroque beauty meets British history. Birthplace of Winston Churchill, home to the Dukes of Marlborough, and ridiculously beautiful.

🏡 Strawberry Hill House – Twickenham, London

268 Waldegrave Rd, Twickenham TW1 4ST

Gothic, quirky, and one-of-a-kind. Built by writer Horace Walpole, it’s like stepping into a fairytale novel.

Let me know if you’ve been to any of these or which have made your list!

5 Lovely things to do in London with your mu(o)m 🇺🇸🇬🇧 (or any woman you care about in your life 🫶🏽)

🫖 🍰 Indulge in afternoon tea together

We did Brigit’s Bakery Bus Tour and it was as fun as it was delicious (bonus points for sightseeing with your scones).

🎡 Get your Zone 1 tourist on

Yes, it’s cheesy, yes, you must do it. From Big Ben to Buckingham Palace, tick off the classics together!

 🎭Dinner & a West End show

We went to Le Garrick in Covent Garden then saw Tina at the Aldwych Theatre. Highly, highly recommend.

🖼️ Museum day out

Whether it’s the V&A or the Natural History Museum (or one of London’s hundreds of big and small museums) you really can’t go wrong. Free and fabulous.

🚂 Leave London

We hopped over to Bath and it’s easily became one of my favourite memories with my mom. (That and watching her try haggis for the first time in Edinburgh…).

It’s not often my parents come to visit (I usually fly back to the US twice a year), so having this time with my m(u)om in London was extra special, hope it gave you some inspo ♥️

📌 SAVE for your next UK adventure 🇬🇧 bec 📌 SAVE for your next UK adventure 🇬🇧 because getting outside London into England’s villages should be on everyone’s bucket list 🏡 Clovelly is a stunning, ancient village dating back to 1086, famously listed in the Domesday Book. It’s picturesque, charming, car-free and has been privately owned for over 800 years, helping preserve its cobbled streets and fishing heritage.

Wander its quaint shops, try a Cornish pasty, and soak up the history that inspired writers like Charles Dickens.

Plus just a short drive away is Sandymouth Bay Beach - National Trust — perfect for breathtaking coastal views.

Practicals ↓

1️⃣ Clovelly is car-free to keep its unique charm — and you’ll pay a small entry fee that helps maintain the village.

2️⃣ It’s about a 4.5 to 5-hour drive from London so worth making a 3-4 day trip around North Devon and or nearby Cornwall (southwest coast of England)

3️⃣ You can easily explore the village in a few hours but if you’re keen to make a day of it there’s a few lovely B&Bs and pub hotels in the village like The Red Lion Hotel, The New Inn Hotel or Harbour View Cottage

Let me know if you’ve heard of Clovelly before or if it’s going on your list!

One thing I’ve never understood is why people ju One thing I’ve never understood is why people judge tourists for doing touristy things. In my opinion, there’s no invisible ‘traveller points’ you get by going to London and not getting a Big Ben pic, going to Paris and not cheesin’ it at the Eiffel Tower or going to Prague and not having a Chimney Cake (or two).

On that note, here’s everything to get up to for a touristy and fun first day in the city of Prague 🇨🇿✨

🥐 Take a morning stroll through Prague’s storybook streets and the beautiful Old Town Square

🕰️ Watch the whimsical tick-tock of the Astronomical Clock

📚 Snap a shot at iconic infinite tower of books at the Municipal Library

🌉 Savour the views from the legendary Charles Bridge

🍦 Have a chimney cake moment — warm, sweet, cinnamon perfection

🎨 Pose by the colourful John Lennon Wall

🍽️ Devour authentic Czech food (and Czech beer, naturally) at Nicolas

⛪ Marvel at the gothic beauty of St Vitus Cathedral

🍷 & end your day at Villa Richter — the oldest vineyard in the country, with dreamy views to match
