London Tourist itineraries

Let’s Start With The Romance in London Classic… Food and Drinks!

1. There’s nothing wrong with a traditional romantic dinner in a fancy restaurant to get to know each other. And luckily for you, lovebirds, London is the place to dine! Fancy Indian? Mexican? African? The list goes on and on.

2. For a cooler (and cheaper!) experience, London Food Markets are something you won’t get over. Try the popular Camden Market, the trendy Spitalfields, and the eclectic Brick Lane (every weekend).

3. A fancier experience can be with traditional Afternoon Tea, where sophistication and romantic vibes are in every bite and sip!

4. Why not learn something together? In London there are classes for everything, from sushi to baking.

5. If the date is in the evening, opt for sexy cocktails at one of the many bars in London. Some of my favourites are The Alchemist and All Bar One, in several London locations.

6. There’s also the original option to create your own cocktails at BYOC, which is extremely fun.

7. And if you’re gin fans, why not learn about it at The Distillery or create your own at City of London Distillery?

8. Or keep it simple by joining a pub crawl! There are options in Central London, Camden and Shoreditch.

Now Calling All Romantic London Explorers!

Notting-Hill-London

9. If you prefer a lovely stroll in a romantic neighbourhood, head to Notting Hill, Kensington or Greenwich, to name a few.

10. I know it’s touristy, but I swear a walk on South Bank is super romantic. Stop at one of the benches overlooking the London skyline and voilà! You’re falling in love again.

11. One of the most romantic walks have to be next to Regent’s Canal. You can pick any spot in London for it and it’ll do the trick.

12. How many of us have dreamt of a date at a park? Lucky for you, London has many! My favourites have to be Kensington Gardens, Regent’s Park, Victoria Park, Kew Gardens, and Richmond.

13. Another ultra romantic spot in London is St Katharine Docks, full with restaurants, pubs and the most romantic twinkle lights next to the boats.

14. Hampton Court Palace is a romantic and historic spot not to be missed! Its gardens are gorgeous and the cafes just lovely.

15. If you lovebirds are into hiking, London has both Epping Forest and the Wetlands to satiate your adventurous souls.

16. Exploration can be done in several ways, so hop on a bike and ride through a cosy neighbourhood in London to get the romance going. I’d highly recommend Hampstead, Kingston upon Thames and Chiswick.

Fancy a Romantic London View?

17. Sometimes you just need the height of The Shard to contemplate London and your love story.

18. You can also grab some free tickets to enjoy the gorgeous Sky Garden, or book a brunch, drinks or dinner if there aren’t any available.

19. The London Eye is another must-do experience, think of the views!

20. Or forget about the sky and surround yourself with the twinkling lights from the River Thames with a romantic River Cruise.

21. Or combine both the sky and the River Thames with the incredible IFS Cloud Cable Car.

22. A good park will also please your eyes if you know how to pick. One of the best options is Hampstead Heath

23. … And of course Primrose Hill. Bring snacks and drinks and you’re all set for a delightful sunset!

24. Greenwich is another unmissable spot for a stunning view.

25. Finally, a good rooftop bar can be perfect for indulging in London’s skyline at night. Some of my favourites are the Aviary, Madison and JOIA in Battersea.

Don’t Forget London’s Romantic Activities and Experiences

26. Live your Grease fantasy with a cool outdoor cinema, popping everywhere during summer. Some of the best in London are Rooftop Film Club, The Luna Cinema and Summer Screens in Canary Wharf.

27. Another movie fantasy can be fulfilled with a rowing boat in one of London’s parks with a lake, including Hyde Park, Regent’s Park and Victoria Park.

28. Channel your inner competitors with a good sesh of bowling. My favourite venues are All Star Lanes and Hollywood Bowl.

29. Or impress your significant other (or potential significant other) with your singing and dancing skills at a fun karaoke. Star has venues in Liverpool Street, Bethnal Green and Shoreditch!

30. A good old arcade is also an excellent idea for a fun date out. Just be careful if you’re competitive!

31. London’s full with sexy, original activities. Paint & Sip is one of them! Check the new Paint in the Dark, Sip N’ Stroke and Brush and Bubbles.

32. Teach your date how to perfect a swing in a Mini Golf game. Check Junkyard Golf Club, Plonk Golf and Puttshack Bank.

33. Head to Bounce for a nerve-racking ping-pong match.

34. Other games for a romantic yet extremely fun night out include Electric Shuffle and Flight Club Darts. Feel free to invite other couples and bet a round of drinks!

35. Prove your wit and sharpness in one of London’s Escape Rooms. Lookout for No Escape, Mission: Breakout, ClueQuest and new pop ups when you plan on doing it.

36. If you’re looking for something more unique and exclusive, take the skies together in a London Helicopter Tour.

37. Or go back to basics and sweat it out on the dancefloor when you dance together. Bar Salsa, Simmons Bars and Bar Rumba are good options.

Are You Up For a Cultural London Date?

38. Are you into music, good stories and a great time? Then catch a play in the West End (apps like TodayTix have some of the best offers for it) or at one of the many independent theatres in London, including the popular Southwark Playhouse.

39. London has a great scene of both established and upcoming comedians, so why not go to a comedy show in one of the many amazing clubs? Some include Top Secret Comedy Club, Backyard Comedy Club and Camden Comedy Club.

40. Get cultural with a classical music concert that exceeds usual expectations. Candlelight Concerts are original, intimate, and very trendy, offering shows that cover from The Beatles to Taylor Swift.

41. Go to a museum! London has tons of interesting options for all tastes and curiosity levels. I personally think the V&A, the Tate Modern, the Science Museum and the National Gallery are both romantic and gret conversation starters. But honestly, the options are endless (and mostly free!).

42. Or for something more “present”, then a concert or music festival is the way to go! London is absolutely packed with options, so make sure you check Live Nation, Ticketmaster and The O2 for some of the best.

You Can’t Miss Little Venice

You can’t write about being romantic in London without mentioning the most romantic place in the city — Little Venice! Some of the amazing things to do include:

43. Just get yourself lost in this wonderful place. Walk around the canal, explore the quirky boutique shops and go to the scenic Rembrandt Gardens.

44. Make a foodie pit stop with a wonderful view to the canal. I’d go for Raoul’s Café for brunch and the Waterside Café for a romantic dinner, but there’s definitely more to choose from.

45. Have a lazy boat ride! It’s a 45-minute one-way trip that’ll make you fall in love with the city… and each other!

46. Don’t forget to catch a show. Here you can find the ever-charming Puppet Theater Barge and the Canal Cafe Theatre, which has been providing comedic relief to Londoners since the ’70s.

Or Why Not Escape London?

cotswolds day trip from london

Now, don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love London and think it can be the most romantic place ever. But being here gets you the opportunity to explore so much more, just a quick train away!

47. Anyone can confirm the Cotswolds is, arguably, the strongest contender for most romantic places in the UK. It can take more than a day to explore, but there are some good options for a day trip, like this tour.

48. You’ve heard of Bath, a portal to a gorgeous Roman era where a romantic Spa could be waiting for you. Trains depart frequently from London Paddington, so getting there is easy-peasy.

49. Or why not a gorgeous beach near London? Brighton, Whitstable and Hastings are some of my favourites. And don’t get scared of the weather! They’re gorgeous winter beaches as well.

50. Like I said, options for a day trip from London are endless, but some of the most romantic are Cambridge, Oxford, and Stratford-upon-Avon.
