The Best Brunch & Breakfast Spots in Hampstead, London

New York Cafe

84 Heath St, London NW3 1DN

Bringing a little bit of New York to North London, New York Cafe is one of the best brunch spots in Hampstead if you’re looking for a local jaunt.

Strictly American it’s here you’ll find USA favourites like New York Style Pancakes, French Toast, Hearty Omelettes, and of course — streaky bacon. As an American in London, it definitely has my stamp of approval.

The majority of their menu is also made organic, which we love. In addition to some unique breakfast finds like a Truffle oil & Avocado Salsa Smoked Salmon Bagel and a Pulled Duck Benedict.

The Coffee Cup

74 Hampstead High St, London NW3 1QX
The-Coffee-Cup-Hampstead

Okay I want you to close your eyes and imagine the most mom-and-pop breakfast spot on a leafy high street you can think of — that my friends, is The Coffee Cup.

For over 50 years this quaint Hampstead brunch spot has been offering a cosy atmosphere alongside a wide array of breakfast options. I found it while taking a wander around Hampstead and have been hooked ever since.

Expect nothing but a hearty British breakfast here, from Eggs Benedict with bacon, Smoked Salmon, and Eggs, or my favourite — The Coffee Special Breakfast.

Don’t worry, for a vegetarian breakfast in Hampstead you can go for their avo on toast, Vegetarian Breakfast, or Muesli Bowl.

And with its Hampstead High Street location it’s one of the best al fresco breakfast spots in Hampstead.

Tania’s Of Hampstead

12 Heath St, London NW3 6TE

It’s not every day your local breakfast spot is named one of the best coffee shops in London, which is why a visit to Tania’s of Hampstead is a must.

The small-but-mighty Lebanese cafe is bursting with friendly staff, vintage decor, and a stack of waffles that’ll do you right in.

It’s also deliriously close to the Hampstead Antique & Craft Emporium if you’re up for some exploring after.

P.S. – If you’re out and about I recommend stopping here for lunch too – they do amazing pastries and toasted sandwiches!

The Gallery

190 Broadhurst Gardens, London NW6 3AY

If a buzzy neighbourhood brunch spot with a basement and crafty cocktails sounds like a bit of you, I’m going to have to point The Gallery your way.

Situated nicely in West Hampstead, The Gallery is where you go for a weekend brunch in NW you won’t forget.

Your first choice will be sweet or savoury — where you can decide between Eton Mess, Blueberry, or Caramelised Banana Waffles; or head for the savoury with Bacon, eggs, and tomato or Chorizo and Padron pepper goodness.

I’ll have you know they also do the best bottomless brunch in Hampstead here, with £40 for 2 hours of any waffle + bottomless bloody mary, mimosa, or Passionfruit Margarita. Yes please!

Roni’s

44 Rosslyn Hill, London NW3 1NH

If there was a hall of fame for Hampstead breakfast places, Roni’s would be in it.

The neighbourhood bakery started off in the 80’s (founded by Roni Avital) specialising in Jewish baked goods and bagels that’ll make you swoon.

Nowadays, you’ll find a bit of everything here — from an English Breakfast to Roni’s Scrambled with malawach and harissa, and Roni’s Feast with all the fixings…to name a few.

There’s also a fair amount of plant-friendly options here if you’re looking for vegan and vegetarian brunch spots in Hampstead.

Rosemary Cafe

225 Finchley Rd, South Hampstead, London NW3 6LP

Right on Finchley Road is the Rosemary Cafe.

Although it’s new to the Hampstead brunch scene, it’s impressed me so far — with a mission to bring their ‘friends coming over’ meals to North London.

The charming cafe with a rustic interior offers a delicious breakfast menu with a focus on fresh and organic ingredients. So from Acai Bowls to homemade Granola (and a fabulous Detox Juice), you’ll find it all here.

They’ve also got some great vegan options on the menu if you’re looking for a vegan breakfast in Hampstead, so be sure to check it out!

HSoA Cafe

Penrose Gdns, London NW3 7BF

Set in the Hampstead School of Art is the HSoA Cafe, is one of my most unique finds in the area, and a great Hampstead brunch spot.

The quirky cafe with a unique art gallery, offers a breakfast menu of artisan coffee, pastries, and fresh light bites. Perfect if you’re looking for something quick in the neighbourhood.

Alice House

283-285 W End Ln, London NW6 1RD

Alice House is a West Hampstead favourite, offering a variety of breakfast options with a modern twist.

Tuck into their Saturday brunch finds here like their Spiced brisket with poached eggs, Alice or Veggie fry up, or French Toast.

P.S. – The interiors here are fabulously rustic — make sure to snap a picture or two!

Silverberry

14 Pond St, London NW3 2PS
silverberry hampstead

Once you’ve forgiven the fact that it’s a chain, you’ll find Silverberry is easily one of Hampstead’s best breakfast spots.

The contemporary cafe comes fit with a cosy atmosphere and an incredibly diverse menu.

Gorge on a warm Shakshuka one minute to Pancakes and homebaked Granola the next.

For a vegan brunch in Hampstead, I suggest trying their Avocado & Sourdough (with cherry tomatoes, radishes, and coriander shoots).

SUNDAY at Belle Vue

Rowland Hill St, London NW3 2AD

Hailing its graces from Islington is one of London’s most stylish brunch spots — Sunday at Belle Vue.

The all-day brunch and coffee spot has become a fan favourite for a reason, with a regularly changing menu that’ll make you come back over and over again to this Hampstead breakfast spot.

But in case you need some tempting, a few words — toasted cornbread with maple chili butter; salt beef & cheddar sourdough sandwiches; corn fritters with halloumi. Salivating yet?

La Crêperie de Hampstead

77 Hampstead High St, London NW3 1RE

Feasting on my La Crêperie de Hampstead brunch!

I’m incredibly proud to say London’s best crêperie and Hampstead brunch spot sits right on the high street. Welcome to La Crêperie de Hampstead.

The small window French-style creperie is where you go for all things fast and delicious. With a fresh crepe made of dreams whipped right in front of you in minutes.

A great stop too before going up to Hampstead Heath!

P.S. – Their classic ham and cheese crepe and Nutella crepe are a must!

Wet Fish Cafe

242 W End Ln, London NW6 1LG

From a former fishmonger to classic British cafe, Wet Fish Cafe is a true neighbourhood gem.

Get there before 4pm to experience their Wet Fish brunch — including mains like a Potato, chorizo & egg scramble, Eggs with salt cod mash, French toasted brioche, and bubble and squeak.

For a vegetarian brunch in Hampstead (or a vegan breakfast in Hampstead if you request no eggs), their Houmous breakfast or avo on toast with toasted almonds is heavenly.

Ginger & White

4a, 5a Perrin’s Ct, London NW3 1QU

I’m a sucker for trendy breakfast spots in London, so it’s no wonder Ginger & White caught my eye (and I’ve been going back ever since).

The hip and British Hampstead brunch spot prides itself on their locally sourced ingredients, artisan coffee, and all things Hampstead breakfast.

Although it’s not a huge menu, you will find scrumptious breakfast bits here like their Porridge, Acai Bowl, and Granola or some more hearty finds like their Shakshuka with buttered sourdough.

Oliver’s Village Cafe

92 Belsize Ln, Belsize Park, London NW3 5BE

Shared between Belsize Park and Hampstead is Oliver’s Village Cafe.

The neighbourhood spot is where you go for a quick Hampstead brunch catch-up, with no-fuss breakfast picks like Oliver’s Breakfast (Full English style), Eggs Avo, or a yummy Porridge with Vanilla and Berry Compote.

There’s also a Veggie Breakfast that can’t be missed if a vegetarian breakfast in Hampstead is on your mind.

The Buttery Cafe in Burgh House

Burgh House, New End Square, London NW3 1LT

Last but not least is The Buttery Cafe in Burgh House.

The informal breakfast spot is, of course, fabulous for post-exploring the historic Burgh House, but is also just a great spot to go for a cosy brunch in Hampstead.

Tuck in here for an Eggs Asparagus, Benedict, or Royale; smashed avo & chili on toast; or an array of fresh plates & bowls to start your morning in Hampstead (like a local).
