Competition from local cafes, the British tea culture, an ineffective location strategy and the increasing health consciousness and preference for less sugary pastries from the locals were some of the main issues it faced that forced them to withdraw in the 90s… Then again in 2018.
However, they are still the company that serves over 4.5 million customers a day in 38 countries. And yes, one of those is the UK.
At the end of the day, there will always be Dunkin’ Donuts lovers. Especially in one of the biggest and most multicultural cities in the world, London!

A bit different to Dunkin’ Donuts, their presence is strong in the UK due to their signature “Original Glazed” that instantly became a classic among doughnut lovers in the country.
In London, Krispy Kreme stores are in all corners of the city, including a major location at London Bridge Station.
Among other popular sites are the Victoria station, Charing Cross, Waterloo, Baker Street, Holborn, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Liverpool Street.

Other Global Coffee Chains
In a city that attracts around 20 million tourists annually, of course, the coffee chain game is strong.
In London, you can find almost 250 stores of the worldwide popular Starbucks. There are also tons of stores and self-serve stations of the second biggest chain in the world Costa Coffee. Even though the UK market doesn’t go as crazy for sugary doughnuts as we do in the US, London proves once more that anyone can find anything they’re looking for a few tube stops away.
And Dunkin’ Donuts is no different.
Sure, there are less than five options at the moment, but you’d probably find yourself in the area at least once while you’re in London!
