It’s hard to find a London neighbourhood more iconic than Kensington. Dosed in royal status, chic cafes and buzzing high streets, Kensington is a true London gem of old and new.
Whether you’re a new local to the area or just keen to live like a semi-royal for your day, you’ll need all the energy you can get to explore all Kensington has to offer (cue the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Portobello Road, Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens, and of course, Kensington Palace). Maybe…with some brunch?
In this post, I’ll be sharing where to find the best brunch in Kensington including where to find the best brunch in South Kensington, where to find bottomless brunch in Kensington and vegan & vegetarian brunch spots in Kensington along with some lovely tips to make the most of your brunch in the area. Enjoy!
Where to Brunch in Kensington: 10 Best Breakfast Spots

1. Ffiona’s
51 Kensington Church St, London W8 4BA
Ffiona’s is one of Kensington’s most staple brunch spots — serving all the British breakfast classics with classically chic interiors for the past 25 years.
Enjoy straddling between the colourful Notting Hill and traditional Kensington while feasting on gluten-free buttermilk pancakes, organic smoked salmon and of course, a proper Full English.
If you’re up for something different — you can indulge in their famous Bloody Marys (so good!) that may or may not be spiked with horseradish.
It’s also super close to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace. So perfect for a weekend brunch in Kensington with a bit of exploring after.
Must-Try: Black pudding
2. Megan’s on the High Street
204 Kensington High St, London W8 7RG
Think of Megan’s on the High Street as the neighbourhood hangout (Kensington style of course).
The charming brunch spot started as an antique shop on Kings Road but slowly grew into the best brunch on High Street Kensington (and a dog-friendly brunch hangout).
It basically screams “come in!” with a baby blue storefront and sunny atmosphere that’ll make you completely forget where the time went as you’re breakfast’ing away.
Their brunch menu is more than suitable for vegans and vegetarians; with a yummy Vegan Brunch and Veggie Brunch on offer. If you’re looking for a bottomless brunch in Kensington you’ll find it here — with unlimited prosecco at just £20 per person (no food included).
Must-Try: Shakshorizo Baked Eggs
3. Eggbreak
30 Uxbridge St, London W8 7TA
Eggbreak is one of my favourite brunch spots in London and lucky for you, they’re in Kensington!
Dripping with all the eggy-goodness you can imagine (literally all) if your breakfast orders usually include the words ‘sunny side up’ don’t consider any other brunch in Kensington.
On the spicy end, they’ve got the Hot 4 Eggbreak Tabasco Frittata Sando filled with potato frittatas, chimichurri and brioche bread that practically melts in your mouth. But if you’re in the mood for the more traditional, there’s an Egg, Bacon & Cheese Toasty waiting just for you.
Must-Try: Burrata & Truffle Scrambled Eggs
4. Dirty Bones
20 Kensington Church St, London W8 4EP
American breakfast makes me very happy. Thank you Dirty Bones! Originally opened in Kensington, think of Dirty Bones as a quirky NYC joint that just so happened to stumble in West London.
Their speciality is comfort food and cocktails, and it certainly shows. Treat yourself to a naughty weekend brunch of Chicken and Waffles with a shot of maple syrup or make your mouth water (seriously) with their Avacado Crumpets.
Also, if you’re in the mood for bottomless brunch in Kensington, their cure-all Bottomless Boozy Brunch needs to be on your bucket list.
Must-Try: Avacado Crumpets
5. Dishoom
4 Derry St, London W8 5SE
Dishoom has rightly made a name for itself as one of the best restaurants in London — but did you know it’s a brunch icon too?
Serving the best of Indian cuisine (from Bombay, with love) they easily make the cut for the best breakfast in Kensington, and I don’t say that lightly.
The Big Bombay breakfast fit with char-striped bacon and masala beans is second to none (P.S – Their Vegan Bombay is equally delicious). And breakfast is always better with rich aromatic coffee (sourced straight from Sunticoppa, Karnataka).
As you can imagine, breakfast tables fill up fast here. So book as early as possible!
Must-Try: Keema Per Eedu (Parsi power breakfast)
6. Aubaine Kensington
260-262 Brompton Rd, South Kensington, London SW3 2AS
Looking for a French brunch in Kensington? I have to suggest Aubaine.
Smacked right in the grandeur of South Kensington Aubaine is classic and cosy, perfect for a weekend brunch before, for example, heading to The Natural History Museum.
On brand, my favourite here is the French toast brioche. But their Breakfast Bundle is especially tempting, with a choice of a Benedict, Royal, Florentine or Avacado Toast alongside a flaky croissant with orange juice and tea or coffee. Yum!
Must-Try: French Toast Brioche and Truffle scrambled eggs
7. Farmacy
74-76 Westbourne Grove, London W2 5SH
Challenging modern eating Farmacy is committed to sustainability and solely ‘living food’ ingredients. As the best vegan brunch spot in Kensington, you can rest assured any meal you have here is truly farm to table.
Sweet Potato Breakfast Burritos, Truffle Sourdough Toast and Buckwheat Pancakes are all specialities here. But outside of its delicious plant-based menu, it’s also incredibly aesthetic, with a trendy bohemian vibe that begs for a gram shot or two.
Must-Try: Protein ‘Omelette’
8. The Hunter’s Moon
86 Fulham Rd., South Kensington, London SW3 6HR
The Hunter’s Moon is home to everything traditional English breakfast.
Whether it’s a cosy get together over a Full English and Black pudding to a weekend catch-up over a brunch cocktail (or two) there’s something very special and homey about pub breakfast — that you definitely can’t always find in Kensington.
Top it all off with a delicious Bloody Mary and you have one of the best brunch spots in South Kensington.
Must-Try: Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Egg on Sourdough
9. Balan’s Soho Society
187 Kensington High St, London W8 6SH
Balan’s Soho Society believes ‘Too much of a good thing is a good thing’ which is exactly the phrase you want to live by when it comes to breakfast.
The famed Soho breakfast hub has splashed its way to Kensington — filled with the same quirky bistro-style decor and oozing with charm and character. Now it’s one of the best places to get breakfast on Kensington High Street.
You’ll notice on the menu there are a few ‘less traditional’ dishes (cue ‘Eggs in hell’) but with an extensive menu with everything from Avacado & Quinoa bruschetta to American Pancakes, there’s truly something for everyone here.
Must-Try: Lobster Benedict
10. The Ivy Kensington Brasserie
96 Kensington High St, London W8 4SG
Oh, The Ivy. Is there any breakfast scene in London they haven’t infiltrated yet? (don’t worry…it’s a good thing). An effortlessly stylish brasserie The Ivy Kensington is truly a brunch lover’s dream.
Once you walk into the luxury restaurant, you’ll be treated to all the fixing of a proper British brunch (cue the Eggs Royale). You can also enjoy your meal on their lovely outdoor terrace if you’re keen.
Must-Try: Truffle Arancini
