Hampstead has a reputation for leafy streets, blue plaques, and million-pound homes — which also makes it one of the best places in London for charity shopping.
The donations here come from some of the city’s most affluent wardrobes, so it’s not unusual to find designer pieces, high-quality homeware, or even the odd celebrity clear-out hanging on the rails.
Add to that the feel-good factor of supporting local charities, and a day of thrifting in Hampstead starts to feel like a proper treasure hunt.
I’ve spent far too many days wandering all the second-hand goods on offer here (especially when I lived in Hampstead), so here’s the best ones to pop into!

The Best Charity Shops in Hampstead, London

Why Charity Shop in Hampstead
Hampstead’s one of the best places in London for charity shopping, thanks to its postcode.
Donations here often mean high-end fashion, well-kept homeware and the odd designer piece slipped onto the rails (every now and then, you’ll even spot a celebrity donation).
Not to mention between shops, you’ve got Hampstead Heath on your doorstep — perfect for a breather (or a browse through your finds) before heading back in for seconds.

Boutique by Shelter: Hampstead
57 S End Rd, London NW3 2QB

Designed by Wayne Hemingway, Boutique by Shelter has a clean, modern layout that makes browsing easy peasy.
Inside you’ll find everything from high-street staples to the occasional designer label, plus shelves of books and small homeware.
The charity’s work goes directly toward tackling homelessness across the UK, so your bargain hunt has real impact.
Oxfam Hampstead

An established part of Hampstead High Street since the early ’90s, Oxfam stocks the usual mix of clothes, books, and houseware — with a focus on fair trade and eco-friendly goods.
Bookworms (including me) should also note there’s a dedicated Oxfam Bookshop a few minutes away on Heath Street, stacked with everything from modern fiction to out-of-print treasures.
Cancer Research UK

Just down from the tube station, this branch of Cancer Research is compact but packed with gorgeous secondhand finds.
Expect rails of well-kept clothing (often high-street with the occasional designer label slipped in), shelves of books, and homeware that changes weekly.
The staff are friendly, and with lots of Hampstead’s best cafés nearby, it’s easy to make this a pit stop before or after your charity shop loop.
P.S. – Great for quick finds and repeat visits, they restock fast here!
