Balham is where South West locals go to have a good time.
Free from the buzz of Clapham (albeit devilishly close) there’s a major homey vibe and community here, fit with all the trendy bars, restaurants, and of course, Balham brunch spots to make you feel at home.
Without further ado, here’s the best brunch spots in Balham, from a Londoner.

1. The Exhibit
12 Balham Station Rd, London SW12 9SG
It’s not every day you can find bottomless Balham brunch but luckily, The Exhibit’s got you covered.
The independent restaurant has been a staple to South West London locals for years, with everything from DJ’s to five (yes, five) bars and all the comfort food you need to start a day in the area.
Not to mention, unique morning breakfast adds like jalapeño cornbread muffins and Halloumi & Portobello Baps.
Must-Try: Halloumi & Portobello Bap
2. Heart of Balham
113 Balham High Rd, London SW12 9AP
In the heart of Balham lies, well, The Heart of Balham. The cafe, also known as the ‘HOB’ is a family-run brunch spot rooted in Moroccan and Medditterean influences.
If you’re looking for your typical breakfast in Balham, you may be disappointed. But if spicy Shakshuka and Lebanese breakfast is your jam (which it totally should be) then it’s well worth the visit. Oh, and don’t forget to try Mama’s Moroccan pancakes, and thank me later of course.
Must-Try: Lebanese Breakfast
3. Milk
18-20 Bedford Hill, London SW12 9RG
Milk is the kind of brunch in Balham spot you go to for a long catch-up with that friend you said you’d take to a really great brunch spot (that of course, you know all the locals go to). With no-fluff decor and an incredibly delicious menu, this is where you come to EAT.
Take up an incredibly hearty serving of everything from Buckwheat Pancakes with caramelised spiced pineapple, pano fried red snapper in milk bread or a Pork Patty Muffin. Seriously, the options are endless.
Must-Try: Weekend Special
4. Foxcroft & Ginger
8 Ritherdon Rd, London SW17 8QD
There’s nothing like a crisp croissant and hot brew on a Sunday in Balham, and Foxcroft & Ginger is the perfect backdrop. The local hub serves the best seasonal finds (and is great for vegetarians).
Lose a morning indulging in their Quinoa Breakfast Bowl, Miso Aubergine or infamous Gingers Granola.
Must-Try: Breakfast Bowls
5. Brickwood Coffee & Bread
11 Hildreth St, London SW12 9RQ
I’ll admit, the name spoils it a bit. But there is really great coffee & bread to be found at Brickwood Coffee & Bread.
The Aussie-inspired brunch in Balham is great for soaking up the English sun (a rare occasion) in their courtyard with loads of healthy, and not so healthy, breakfast options to choose from.
Personally, I’d go for their Brickwood Burrito (with potato hash, carnitas and red pepper salsa), but then again, there is the Butcher’s Breakfast.
Whatever you do, make sure you add some espresso butter to your order if you’re feeling extra fancy.
Must-Try: Brickwood Burrito
6. Daisy
57-59 Balham Hill, London SW12 9DR
Picture this. It’s a Sunday morning, you’ve just met your friend at your favourite Balham brunch spot. You’re feasting on fresh pastries and New York Bodega sandwiches. Welcome to Daisy.
After years of being a pipe dream, Daisy was opened by three friends from across the world with a passion for all things food and connection.
Cosy up with their seasonal brunch menu or enjoy their devilishly good brunch cocktails.
Must-Try: Bloody Daisy
7. Megan’s on the Hill
41-43 Bedford Hill, London SW12 9EY
Megan’s has long been a London favourite for their dog-friendly atmosphere and consistently Instagrammable interiors.
Megan’s on the Hill is their Balham location, serving classics like Megan’s Brunch and Eggs Benedict to morning takes like Warm Buddha Bowls and Turkish Brunch Feasts.
Must-Try: Turkish Brunch Feast with Halloumi
8. The Apple Blue
212 Balham High Rd, London SW12 9BS
It’s not every day you get named the best brunch spot in Balham. The Apple Blue houses French Toast to die for (seriously, the queues can go out the door) and oodles of fresh-baked pastries to choose from.
If you’re in more a savoury kind of mood, their Breakfast Croissant or ‘Dutch Baby and Fried Chicken’ (I’ll tell you later) should hit the spot.
Must-Try: Dutch Baby & Fried Chicken
9. Haché Burgers Balham
37 Bedford Hill, London SW12 9EY
Three words. Parisian, burgers, brunch. Nestled in Bedford Hill Haché Burgers Balham has one of the best bottomless brunches in Balham, with an hour and a half of free-flowing bubbly for the taking.
Even though it’s not super ‘brunch specific’ I highly recommend their dessert menu too, especially the Smores in a Jar.
Must-Try: The Spritz Kit (if you’re doing the bottomless brunch)
10. Nata’s Coffee Bar
19 Balham High Rd, London SW12 9AL
Going for more of a low-key brunch in Balham? Make it a morning at Nata’s Coffee Bar.
Friendly and quaint it’s a great place to catch up with friends over anything from Sweet Belgian Waffles to classic Egg Royales. Just don’t forget to order a cup of their organic blends.
Must-Try: Sweet Belgian Waffle with banana, strawberries, chocolate & whipped cream
Happy brunching,
