A Day in the Life of a Full-Time Influencer (2026)

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a full-time influencer? (or content creator, as I prefer…). Today I’m pulling the curtains behind exactly what my day-to-day looks like, as you guessed it — a full-time social media influencer.

This post may contain affiliate links. Check out my Disclosure & Privacy Policy for more information.

In May 2022 I quit my 9-5 to take being an influencer @candaceabroad full-time — and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

But as a Type A Capricorn, being self-employed meant I had to have a schedule to keep my head on straight.

Although no two days ever look the same as a full-time social media influencer, I thought I’d share a glimpse into what my daily schedule looks like.

Whether you’re thinking of becoming an influencer yourself or recently went full-time and are looking for ways to structure your day, I hope you find it helpful!

P.S. – I’m using the word ‘influencer’ for the sake of this post and SEO, but you can hear my thoughts on the word influencer here — I tend to prefer digital content creator!

Day in the Life of a Full-Time Social Media Influencer

6am – 8am: Morning Routine (with NO Social Media)

social-media-influencer-day-to-day

Morning gratitude — without social media!

I tend to wake up every day between 6-6:30am.

Although I don’t have to get up at a certain time (one of the many pros of working for yourself), I’m a morning person, and being awake before the world does really give me a great serotonin boost.

My morning routine fluctuates but tends to include something introspective like journaling or meditation alongside some kind of movement like yoga, a run, or strength training at the gym.

Keeping up your mental health as a content creator is extremely important and so doing these activities helps set me up mentally for a day of being on my phone and soaking in others’ opinions.

I also stopped using social media completely in the mornings 6 years ago and it’s completely changed how I move through the rest of the day (especially first thing when you wake up…this is what it does to your brain…).

8am – 9am: Get Ready, Breakfast & Brand Campaign Check

A fun campaign I did with Adobe to support small businesses!

Depending on whether I’m in full-time blogger or full-time influencer mode, post-breakfast, I’ll check my schedule on Notion (I live by it) and get a head start on any brand campaigns I’m working on for that week.

I’m lucky enough (and worked hard enough) to where most of my brand partnerships are inbound now, meaning I don’t actively have to pitch for work — but that doesn’t mean there’s still not a lot of work to do!

As a full-time influencer who makes a significant amount of income through brand partnerships, I’m typically working on 1-2 campaigns a week.

This could be for a one-off brand partnership, or for one of my recurring partnerships where I make a certain number of deliverables for them per month or quarter — whether that be X Reels, TikToks, Story Sets or blog posts.

Once I know what I’m working on that day, I’ll usually go to my home office or co-working space (I switch between a few, including Second Home, The Ministry and Soho Works; but I’m also a Soho House member so will work from there sometimes too), make a coffee or tea, and get straight to editing or whatever my big creative to-dos are for that day.

9am – 11am/12pm: Deep Work Editing or Leave for a Shoot Day

Voiceover time 🎙️ real glamorous!

I find it incredibly hard to edit or do creative tasks if I’m distracted, so from 9am – 11am (sometimes 12pm) I like to turn off all distractions to create a deep work environment for myself. This includes:

  • Turning off my phone and putting it in my drawer or in a different room
  • Putting on an instrumental jazz or lo-fi playlist on Spotify to get into focus mode
  • Writing all thoughts/notes/ideas that come to my head in Chrome Notes instead of opening new tabs (any creative will know your brain is constantly bursting with new ideas, especially when you’re working on something creative, but a busy brain can be mega distracting when you’re trying to edit!)

Once all distractions are off I can go into my deep work mode for either a campaign or organic piece of content which could include an Instagram Reel, Instagram Story Set, TikTok, Blog Post, or Youtube Video, or my London travel guides and shop.

Workflow wise this includes storyboarding, scripting, creating a voiceover, editing, writing up the campaign copy, and scheduling the content to post or send through to a brand for review.

Psst…for anyone that says being an influencer isn’t real work.

As a destination and travel influencer specifically at least one day of my week is a ‘shoot day’.

This is where I’ll shoot a campaign either with a brand or with my amazing content assistant for my social media channels (either in London, the UK or abroad).

12pm – 3pm: Emails, Communications, Meetings

brand-meeting-day-in-the-life-influencer

Brand meeting in Paris at Subaco!

By 12pm I’ve usually completed the piece of content I’m working on or at least gotten a good chunk of it done to pick up tomorrow.

I may also be in the middle of a shoot day during this time.

From 12pm – 3pm is usually when I dive into the pile of emails waiting for me with everything from lucrative brand partnerships for Instagram, Tik Tok, or the blog to invoices I need to issue or companies asking me to work for free in exchange for a free cocktail and bag of chips.

I prefer the former…

During this time I may also have a meeting with a brand or PR team either via Zoom or in person.

Many influencers have managers which means they handle all the workflow that comes with brand partnerships for the influencer.

But I personally really enjoy the business aspect of being an influencer (I didn’t get my MBA for nothing!) and love building personal relationships with the brands and PR agencies I work with.

3pm – 6pm: Social Media Posting & Wrap Up Tasks

Time to edit some Reels 🎥

Again, if I’m on a shoot day this is typically when it comes to a close and I’ll start heading back home, otherwise, I’m prepping for posting to social media for the day.

Although I have an assistant, I still prefer to take on most of the social media aspect myself.

Because it’s a personal brand connecting with my community feels…personal!

So during this time, I’ll usually upload some stories like my Quote of the Day and a recent blog post.

Given the amount of DM’s I receive it’s hard to answer all of them, but I’ll usually try to respond to at least a handful a week (especially if it’s from a young woman moving to London!).

Some brands also DM me for partnerships, so I’ll keep an eye out for these to move them over to email.

Once I’ve posted my Reel or Tik Tok for the day I’ll engage with my community in the comments, check and engage on the post from the day before, and log off for the day.

6pm – 10pm: Life & Press Events!

Downtime Dinner and Queen Charlotte with my love and his sister visiting for the week and press events in London!

Admittedly in the early stages of my influencer career (and even now sometimes) from 6pm – 10pm I would still continue working.

Churning away, either blogging, editing content, working on a digital product, or taking a course to learn a new skill.

Because I love what I do, it’s sometimes hard for me to set boundaries with work.

I truly could have non-stop energy until 10pm or later if I’m working on something I’m passionate about (like perhaps working on a novel…).

But as any sane human will tell you, that’s not always the healthiest.

Nowadays I try and quit working around 6/6:30pm and either eat dinner and spend time with my partner, meet a friend somewhere in London, go on a long walk, Facetime my family in the US or simply binge out on Netflix.

I try to travel for leisure when I can (being a travel influencer, I had a long period of time where I neglected my personal love of travel and would only travel for companies — not anymore!) and sometimes have an event in London to attend which is usually in the evenings.

I also go to a lot of press events and press visits in London to review restaurants or hotels for my blog or social media.

Influencer event time!

The point is, I stop working and remember to enjoy life outside of social media and being an influencer (unless of course…it’s an influencer event).

Final Thoughts on My Day in My Life as a Full-Time Influencer

what-is-it-like-being-an-influencer

Although no two days look the same as a social media influencer, I hope this helped paint a picture of what life as full-time influencer truly looks like on the day-to-day.

For me at least, I’ve always found reading or watching how other people do things incredibly helpful for my own journey, so I hope this was for yours too!
