Knightsbridge never fails to deliver a day worth remembering.
Whether you’re looking for a shopping spree, delicious dining options or just to be surrounded by luxury for a day — Knightsbridge delivers on all of the above.
I first visited the area when I moved to London in 2016, and have been drawn back ever since, picking up plenty of things to get up to.
From me to you, here are some of the best things to do in Knightsbridge, London. Enjoy!
Top Pick: Where to Stay in Knightsbridge
Given the Mandarin Oriental is one of the highest-rated hotel groups in the world, it has my pick for the best place to stay in Knightsbridge.
From individually designed luxury suites to two-Michelin starred restaurants, a spa and wellness centre alongside a 17-metre swimming pool, and a deliriously close location to Hyde Park, you simply can’t go wrong with a stay at this world-class hotel.

Harrods
If you’re looking for the best things to do in Knightsbridge, a visit to Harrods should be at the top of your list.
With over 150 years of history under its belt and 15 million visitors each year, this iconic London landmark offers an unforgettable experience. Best of all, it’s free to enter.
Once inside, you can explore the magnificent seven floors filled with over 330 different designer shops to choose from.
Be sure to check out all the Superbrands on the first floor while taking in all the beautiful Egyptian architecture around you. If it’s Christmas time, then don’t forget to head down to the bottom floor where they have special festive decorations up — perfect for getting into the holiday spirit in Central London.
When it’s time for a break you can treat yourself to a bite or tipple at Harrods’ Cafe, The Coffee Bar for a more cafe in Knightsbridge vibe or The Harrods Tea Room for an unforgettable Afternoon Tea in London.
Wellington Arch
To mix some sightseeing with an amazing photo op in Knightsbridge, make your way to Wellington Arch.
The famous London landmark was originally meant to be Buckingham Palace’s outer entrance. But things didn’t quite go as planned in 1825-27 — causing it to be moved to its current location just outside Hyde Park.
It also houses a marvellous quadriga sculpture alongside a giant statue of the Duke of Wellington at the very top, known for his famous victory in the Battle of Waterloo.
If you’re keen to go inside, the Grade I listed arch has three floors of exhibitions to explore with stunning views of the surrounding Central and Knightsbridge area (you should also combine this with a trip to Apsley House which we’ll get to next!).
Otherwise, Wellington Arch does make a deliriously good Instagram backdrop if you don’t have time to go in.
Apsley House
It’s well apt that the townhouse to the Dukes of Wellingtons is in Knightsbridge, making a visit to the Apsley House, a must when in the area.
Just off Hyde Park Corner, this grand house stands as a reminder of Britain’s rich history and its role in shaping the modern world.
Built by Robert Adam for Lord Apsley in 1778 it became colloquially known as ‘Number One London’ during its heyday, due to its hotspot location for the English aristocratic society to meet, dine, and entertain from the time of George IV until the middle of the 19th century.
Nowadays, it provides an insight into Regency life for visitors who come to explore its lavish interiors with an amazing collection of artworks including paintings by Van Dyck, Rembrandt, and Rubens.
Similar to the surrounding Knightsbridge area, the house is dosed in luxury and wealth. And being just a stone’s hop from the park, it’s truly one of the best places to see in Knightsbridge if you’re exploring the area.
Victoria Palace Theatre
A short stroll from the centre of Knightsbridge will lead you to none other than the Victoria Palace Theatre.
Opened in 1911, the theatre has a long and fascinating history, as well as providing an incredible backdrop for some of the very best London West End shows (did someone say, Hamilton?).
The theatre itself is beautifully designed with its art deco features, panelled walls, and ornate plasterwork details along with an intimate setting for when it hits showtime.
There’s also air-con and a bar area to enjoy drinks before or after your show, a great way to end a day of exploring Knightsbridge. Time to book some tickets!
Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens
Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are an absolute must-visit when you’re in Knightsbridge.
Hyde Park is one of the biggest parks in Central London, offering plenty to do, see, and experience while you’re in the neighbourhood.
To start I suggest grabbing a rental bike dotted around the park or taking a stroll around the lovely Serpentine Lake (you can rent a boat here too!).
For a more cultural experience, you can visit the Speakers’ Corner near Marble Arch — where passionate public speakers have gathered since the 1800s to share their views on various topics.
For garden and Princess Diana lovers, there’s a beautiful Princess Diana Memorial Fountain on West Carriage Drive close to the grand Albert Memorial and The Rose Garden located near Hyde Park Corner, particularly lovely in early Summer when the blooms are at their best.
Kensington Gardens is technically separate, but connected to Hyde Park as well, with glorious Italian Gardens for people watching, and of course — Kensington Palace.

Have a Fashionable Afternoon Tea at The Berkeley
Having afternoon teas in London is one of my favourite pastimes, so of course when I found out about a Knightsbridge fashion-themed tea, I had to check it out.
Probably one of the most unique things to do in Knightsbridge, Prêt-à-Portea at The Berkeley is an ode to all things fashion and decor, serving a bold take on the traditional afternoon tea.
Taste the entire ‘collection’ made of sweet treats and savoury favourites, alongside their extensive selection of loose-leaf teas (it’s absolutely delicious).
Stroll the Knightsbridge Way
Knightsbridge is an area full of picturesque streets, making simply pottering around the neighbourhood one of the best things to do in Knightsbridge. Here are a few streets and mews to check out:

- Pont Street
- Trevor Square
Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge
Due to its Harrods neighbour, Harvey Nichols definitely doesn’t get as much recognition as it should, but it’s definitely worth visiting when in Knightsbridge.
The designer emporium is a hub for all things fashion and beauty (and gourmet food too).
While here you’ll of course want to do some retail therapy, but there are also some amazing treatments to be found at The Beauty Lounge and stylish rooftop views of the surrounding Knightsbridge at their Café and Terrace.
Brompton Oratory
Beautiful churches are a plenty in Central London, and the Brompton Oratory is no exception.
The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, aka Brompton Oratory is a grand neo-classical Roman Catholic church with eye-gawking interiors.
Their services are open to the public, featuring a live choir every Sunday and plenty of lovely church photo ops if you come any day of the week.
Basically, if you don’t feel like dealing with the crowds of Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s Cathedral — come here!
Visit the V&A
Okay okay, the V&A is more so one of the best things to do in Kensington, but given its just a 10-minute walk from Harrods it does make the cut for the best places to visit in Knightsbridge too. Plus it’s free!
The Victoria & Albert Museum is one of top art & design museums in the world, with over 2.8 million objects on permanent display from over 5,000 years.
Whether you’re an art, history, or designed inclined there’s truly something for everyone here alongside frequent rotating exhibitions.
When you’re done exploring, treat yourself to the best museum cafe in the world at the V&A Cafe, which genuinely feels like being in the middle of a movie scene.

Check out the Haunted Knightsbridge’s Haunted Pub – The Grenadier
Slightly off-brand for Knightsbridge aesthetics, but if quirky haunted pubs are your thing then to The Grenadier pub you go!
According to London legends the pub is named after a young solider named Cedric, who after being caught cheating at cards was given a fatal ending.
To ‘pay his debt’ visitors hang money from the ceiling, which his ghost may or may not collect…
Whether you buy the tale or not this is a fantastic Knightsbridge pub to enjoy after some neighbourhood exploring, with a juicy Beef Wellington with Truffled Mushroom, Honey Glazed Duck or Sunday Roast that’ll do you right in.
P.S. – The Bunch of Grapes is also a great pub in Knightsbridge, right next to Harrods!
Explore Belgravia & Chelsea
My favourite thing about Knightsbridge is how it lends itself perfectly to exploring all the surrounding Central and West London areas.
For Knightsbridge this would be both Belgravia and Chelsea — each with a hoard of their own things to do in the neighbourhood to make the perfect West London day out.
