Despite outdated stereotypes, London has an amazing food scene, and dare I say…some of the best cuisine the world has to offer.
But does it have to break the bank?
If you’re keen to experience the gloriousness that is the London food scene without stretching your wallet too far, here’s my favourite beautiful and affordable London restaurants for great food and great aesthetics.
P.S. – Of course what’s ‘affordable’ to one person may not be to another, especially in the context of London prices. However, all of my below recommendations fall under ‘Mid-range’ options with food and ambiance that could contend with higher-end restaurants in London.

5 Beautiful & Affordable London Restaurants to Visit (+ what to order, prices & more!)
1. Megan’s (Central, West, North & South London)
LOCATIONS ACROSS LONDON
Whenever someone DMs me saying they want a nice London restaurant for a girl’s weekend, birthday, solo trip etc. that’s not too pricey, I always say Megan’s.
It’s a dreamy brunch, lunch & dinner spot fit with airy lights, rustic interiors, and a Mediterranean-inspired menu. Basically like stepping into a holiday postcard.
Lucky for you its relaxed vibes and delicious food doesn’t break the bank, with all mains under £20.
I recommend starting with their signature halloumi fries and diving into their posh “open kebabs” — think warm flatbread, perfectly spiced chicken, and creamy hummus.
For dessert, the chocolate brownie topped with ice cream is a must-try.
Plus they’ve got locations all over London, so super convenient to find one near you.
Brasserie Zédel (Central London)
20 Sherwood St, London W1F 7ED
Just when you thought affordable Central London French food didn’t exist – you find Brasserie Zédel.
If you’re after a dining experience that feels fancy without the hefty price tag, Brasserie Zédel is truly a must-visit.
Nestled just moments from Piccadilly Circus, its grand French brasserie is the epitome of timeless elegance.
Think sweeping Art Deco interiors, warm lighting, and an atmosphere that feels special, but not pretentious.
Their prices are truly fab, with a Prix-Fixe menu 2 courses for £16.95 for 3 courses for £19.75…or splash £19.95 for their Plats du Jour including French finds like French Onion Soup or a classic Steak frites.
In short, Brasserie Zédel is proof that London luxury doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
Rocca di Papa (West London)
73 Old Brompton Rd, South Kensington, London SW7 3JS
Now if you’d like to indulge in classic Italian in London – Rocca di Papa is calling your name.
Located in South Ken(sington) Rocca di Papa offers a delightful escape to the heart of Italy with warm ambiance, traditional décor, and a menu brimming with authentic dishes, and close-ish to Italian prices.
Most mains are £10 – £15 with everything from freshly made pasta and crispy, stone-baked pizzas, succulent grilled meats and flavourful seafood.
Not only is the food lovely and well-priced, but the staff here is very friendly – ideal for getting a taste of Italy in London and saving a few pounds too!
Behest – Kensal Rise (North London)
1082-1086 Harrow Rd, London NW10 5NL
Now for something different (like feeling like you’ve entered a Persian palace) visit Behest.
With its ornate decor, including intricate woodwork, vibrant Persian rugs, and glowing lanterns, the ambiance and aesthetics here are as rich as the flavours on the menu.
Start with their Kashke Bademjan, a smoky aubergine dip mixed with walnuts, herbs and spices followed by a home-cooked main like their Kebab Koubideh – tender minced lamb skewers served with saffron rice and grilled tomatoes.
Most mains are around £12 – £15 so you’ll have more than enough to splurge on a baklava and Persian tea too while you’re at it.
P.S. – Be mindful they don’t serve alcohol, and there’s no BYOB.
Cafe Laville – Little Venice (West London)
453 Edgware Rd, London W2 1TH
And lastly, let me take you to London’s very own Little Venice for a beautiful and affordable tuck in at Cafe Laville.
If you’re in the mood for a cosy yet stylish spot that’s perfect for brunch, lunch, or a casual coffee date, Café Laville should definitely be your go-to.
Between its homey vibe, incredible riverside views of Regent’s Canal, and an Italian menu that’s both simple and incredibly tasty – you could easily lose hours here with a good meal and good conversation.
You can get a great main here from £14 – £16.50 including rich Spaghetti Carbonara to Chicken Paillard – perfectly paired with a cheeky glass of house wine.
