But did you know that it is also the home of some of the best cafes and coffee shops in London?

From exquisite coffees to mouthwatering treats here’s the best coffee shops in Chelsea to get a cuppa — from a local!

The Best Cafes & Coffee Shops in Chelsea, London

The Chelsea Gardener Café

125 Sydney St, London SW3 6NR

The Chelsea Gardener Café focuses on providing great coffee and fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced food, with a menu that offers a delightful mix of light meals, delicious salads, artisanal sandwiches, and homemade cakes…so good!

In their beautiful setting, they offer vegan and gluten-free options, along with a variety of refreshing beverages, including freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, and premium teas and coffees to complement.

I suggest bringing a good read, sitting back, and enjoying the abundant greenery here with a coffee in hand.

P.S. – You can also work from here too!

Amar Café Chelsea

15 Cale St, London SW3 3QS

Tucked away in the heart of Chelsea is a relatively new and cosy gem, Amar Café Chelsea.

Dine on authentic Colombian tapas while enjoying outstanding, ethically sourced Colombian coffees and “tree-to-bar” chocolate.

With a full cocktail menu that includes their very own “Amar Café Expresso Martini”, all coffee lovers are in for a real treat here.

The Black Penny

55 Duke of York Square, London SW3 4LY

The Black Penny is a unique and charming cafe sitting in the Sloane Square section of Chelsea that blends culinary delight with classic allure.

On the menu, you’ll find thoughtfully prepared dishes outshining standard cafe fare, like the roasted marinated chicken thighs with crushed potato, sweet potato, spinach, and tomato parsley onion salad with lemon dressing – chef’s kiss!

Pair that with a full cocktail menu and artisan brews expertly crafted by their baristas, and you’ve got a perfect coffee spot in Chelsea.

Hagen Chelsea

151 King’s Rd, London SW3 5TX

Hagen Espresso Bars in Chelsea, is where the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans hug you as you walk in (the smell is that good!).

The food menu is just as enticing as the coffee — filled with delicious pastries, warm sandwiches, and indulgently sweet treats.

Offering free Wi-Fi and a relaxed setting, Hagen is also an ideal spot for casual meetings, quick work sessions, or quiet reading.

Greenspeares

23 Walton St, London SW3 2HX

There’s a little healthy gem nestled in the heart of Chelsea called Greenspeares, where you’ll find excellent fare, from beautifully crafted healthy salads to West London sandwiches that seem to hug your taste buds (yep, that’s a thing).

And ah, the smoothies!

Other than that personally recommend trying the vegan banana bread with a spot of coffee here — all guilt-free and ridiculously delicious.

P.S. – A visit here will most definitely leave your Instagram and Tik Tok followers jealous!

Charlotte’s Cloud

Kings Court North, 191 King’s Rd, London SW3 5ED

Charlotte’s Cloud is a welcoming Chelsea coffee shop with a casual elegance, along with a genuinely friendly and attentive staff.

In addition to their extensive coffee and drinks menu, they offer delightful pastries alongside an array of dishes that hit all the soulful and savory notes you could ask for, like their Teriyaki Chicken Burger — out of this world!

To my vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free buddies, Charlotte’s got your back with plenty of options, too.

So, whatever your diet, stop by, grab a coffee at least…and thank yourself later.

Party At Pavilion

253 Pavilion Rd, London SW1X 0BP

Party At Pavilion, also known online as “The Roasting Party”, is the place to go in Chelsea for excellent coffees, perfectly cooked cheese toasties, and famously friendly service.

Serving up delightfully savoury sandwiches, delectable pastries, and even a nice variety of gluten-free options to go along with your favourite coffee choices, how could you go wrong?

The Physic Garden Café

66 Royal Hospital Rd, London SW3 4HS

For a lovely cafe experience in Chelsea, I suggest sitting in the idyllic atmosphere that is The Physic Garden Café.

Take in a lovely afternoon tea or one of the expertly prepared meals on their menu, including Buffalo mozzarella, Datterino tomatoes, basil, and aged Balsamic glaze on focaccia, or goat curd, marinated beetroot, candied hazelnut, and watercress with truffle honey – amazing!

Don’t forget the freshly baked cakes and “secret recipe” sausage rolls – they’re a must!

P.S. – Be careful not to book online unless you are a Friend of The Physic Garden, or the cost of admission will automatically be added to your booking (it’s done by a third party booking system).

The Locals Chelsea

8 Gatliff Rd, London SW1W 8DT

The Locals Chelsea firmly believes in blending a healthy life with healthy, delicious food (and a really good cup of coffee).

This is their mission and they do it well, with dishes for all dietary preferences made fresh to order with a major culinary flare.

Choose from their generous all-day breakfast, brunch, or regular menus, and be ready to be wowed by the intricately entwined flavours in their innovative food creations.

My personal favourite? The Lobster Benedict, with freshly cooked lobster, poached eggs, charcoal brioche, avocado, king prawns, and homemade hollandaise. Yum!

P.S. – Or simply grab a really good specialty coffee to go.

508 Coffee

493A King’s Rd, London SW10 0TU

508 Coffee prides itself on being an artisan coffee house with baristas that provide amazing, fresh, and creative coffees along with delectable treats that are bound to please even the most discriminating Chelsea tastes.

Their reasonably priced yet scrumptious sweet and savoury offerings make their Chelsea cafe one that you shouldn’t miss.

EL&N Café, Brompton Rd

243 Brompton Rd, London SW3 2EP

EL&N Café has been proclaimed as “the most Instagrammable café in the world”, and once you see the incredible beauty of the décor, food, and drinks, you may say the same.

With specialty smoothies, chocolates, teas, and house coffees, you’re sure to find something refreshing that will wow your family and friends.

They also have a world-famous cake menu, it’s the kind of Chelsea cafe you really need to experience for yourself!

P.S. – For similar vibes head to L’eto on King’s Road.
