Lisbon’s vintage shopping culture is like a breath of fresh air, away from the bustling fast-fashion scene and into the world of second-hand gems.
I’ve scoured the city for the crème de la crème of Lisbon vintage shops, each known for their own standout pieces, quirkiness and/or incredible finds.
1. A Outra Face da Lua
R. da Assunção 22, 1100-044 Lisboa, Portugal
People use expressions like “hidden gems” to talk about places that transport you to a different era with their charm. It’s a can be boring cliché unless you’re talking about A Outra Face da Lua.
This vintage shop in Lisbon is a genuine time capsule, oozing with character and incredible finds.
Located smack-dab in the heart of Lisbon (in the strollable Baixa district), A Outra Face da Lua is an absolute wonderland for Lisbon vintage enthusiasts from the moment you walk in, with a kaleidoscope of styles, colors, and eras from the vibe of 80’s discos to 60’s floral prints, and 70’s denim all over the place.
Not to mention rows and rows of expertly curated women’s clothing, with everything from knock-out cocktail dresses to the funkiest patterned jackets.
If that wasn’t enough — it’s also home to a café, in a relaxed retro setting, paired with delish vegan delights and some seriously good coffee.
Their display windows are always created with a massive love for detail, and the friendly staff are more than just well-versed in all things vintage—they’re passionate about it. So, don’t hold back!
Overall, they’d be my first pick for a vintage shop in Lisbon.
2. Feira da Ladra Fleamarket
Campo de Santa Clara, 1100-472 Lisboa, Portugal
For those of you who fancy brushing up on your Portuguese, ‘Feira da Ladra‘ translates to ‘Thief’s Fair’, which is very on-brand for a place that holds some of the best vintage treasures in Lisbon!
Feira da Ladra is Lisbon’s oldest flea market, dating all the way back to the 12th century with a time-worn charm radiating from every nook, cranny, and babbling vendor.
Held every Tuesday and Saturday, from dawn till around 5pm., this bustling open-air bazaar sprawls across Campo de Santa Clara in Alfama, one of the city’s most historic and charismatic quarters.
Stepping into the Feira da Ladra feels like Alice stumbling into her Wonderland, with a whirlwind of murmuring locals, curious tourists, laid-back fado guitarists, and colourful characters selling literally everything under the Portuguese sun.
From vintage vinyl, stunning azulejo tiles, and antique silverware to retro fashion, old postcards, and wartime memorabilia — Feira da Ladra is a cornucopia of clothes spread over numerous stalls (and laid out on humble mats on the ground).
If you fancy yourself a bargain hunter, wakey-wakey be sure to get here early bird specials to catch the best vintage wear.
But even if you don’t buy anything walking around Feira da Ladra is a cultural experience in and of itself.
3. Luvaria Ulisses

To step back in time, make your way to a small yet enchanting corner of vintage Lisbon at Luvaria Ulisses.
The tiny art deco shop is nestled within the vivacious Chiado district that predates the Second World War. An elegant haven that’s seen the likes of Sinatra!
Once you step into the Luvaria Ulisses, its timelessness grips you instantly with all things 1920s right at the heart of the 21st century.
Now, the gloves! Fashioned from soft, supple leathers in every imaginable colour (we’re talking a dazzling rainbow – flamboyant reds, luscious greens, elegant blacks, and everything in between!). Each pair is made on-site, hand-stitched with love, care, and nearly a century’s worth of artisanal know-how.
Then there’s the fitting process – an absolute ceremony and a spectacle! You sit on a retro-styled stool and extend your hand like royalty as an assistant gently blows into the glove to open up the fingers before slipping it onto your hand.
Now, a gentle warning: these heirloom-worthy pairs come with a price tag to match. But if you’re a vintage lover or a sucker for unique shopping experiences, Luvaria Ulisses is a must-add to your Lisbon escapades.
4. Às de Espadas

If you absolutely ADORE all things retro (like me) you’ll have to Às de Espadas.
Picture this: you’ve weaved your way through Lisbon’s charmingly narrow streets, fuelled by fresh pastels de natas, and you stumble upon Às de Espadas — an eclectic vintage shop that’ll make you feel like you’ve time-travelled to the days of glitz and glamour.
The shop is small but mighty but from the moment you step in, you’ll become a vintage connoisseur.
Every shelf in this Lisbon vintage shop is filled to the brim with shelves of super-unique clothes, accessories, and trinkets — with each item carrying a history of its own.
From 1950s cocktail dresses to dashing fedoras, and snazzy cufflinks they’ve got everything all in one place (with the odd designer or two if you look hard enough).
Now, what about prices? While some items can seem a bit spendy, there’s tons of vintage for every price point here — in other words, you have no excuse not to add Às de Espadas to your Lisbon shopping list!

Next on our vintage tour of Lisbon, we’ll head to the enchanting wonderland of Retro City.
Located right in the bustling neighborhood of Baixa-Chiado, Retro City is a nostalgic dreamland linking all your classic fashion cravings—from the flirty ’50s, the groovy ’60s, all the way up to the rebellious ’90s.
Each corner of the shop tells a story of a different era really, pleasingly packed to the brim and dripping in skyscraping piles of colourful vintage dresses, rows of worn yet fascinating vinyl records, trendy bomber jackets, and an epic assortment of Lisbon-fied accessories.
What I absolutely adore about Retro City is the sheer surprise factor— you literally never know what you’ll find!
And did I mention the shoe section? From classic leather brogues that holler refinement to shiny disco boots that whisper tales of wild, unforgettable nights in the city.

6. Pop Closet

There’s nothing like stumbling on hidden gems when you travel which is exactly how I felt when I landed on Pop Closet in Lisbon.
Also in the super trendy Bairro Alto neighbourhood (and just a short walking distance from the Praça Luís de Camões) – you can’t miss it!
To me, Pop Closet is like a treasure trove of vintage fashion finds, from clothing and accessories to shoes and everything in between.
Their collection with a carefully curated, eclectic vibe, makes it the perfect spot to snag one-of-a-kind pieces that will definitely make you stand out in a crowd (in Lisbon and beyond).
The designer here is particularly noteworthy, and the staff definitely know a thing or two (or three) about vintage fashion, so don’t be afraid to tell them what you’re looking for.
Of course, as with any vintage shop in Lisbon that sells more high-end goods the prices won’t always be on par with thrift-shop-in-Lisbon-esque prices, but you’ll 1000% save way more than you would for new or retail prices here.
7. newJester Vintage for man

If you’re a man in Lisbon looking for dapper digs, then have a look at newJester.
A haven where the vintage world collides with the best of gentlemanly fashion.
Located in the heart of the culturally vibrant Bairro Alto, newJester’s Vintage is where you’ll find ‘suave’ and ‘sophisticated’ in a perfect brew.
Step inside newJester’s stylish domain, and you’ll feel like you’ve entered a one-of-a-kind time capsule, adorned with rad retro vibes.

The moment you step into the sun-soaked store, you’ll be swept off your feet by the warm embrace of lovingly curated second-hand items in Lisbon.
Not long here and you’ll find yourself perusing through the most incredible collection of dresses, bags, and every statement piece you could think of.
The fabulous team behind Madame Surtô is also as warm, welcoming, and passionate as the country itself, so don’t be shy!

For my eco-chic Lisbon amigos — it’s Humana Vintage time.
Located smack-dab in the heart of the city, (just a stone’s throw away from Rossio Square), this glorious vintage shop in Lisbon is a stylish force to be reckoned with. And guess who’s their number one fan? Yours truly!
Their shop truly begins from the ground up, with all clothes coming from Humana’s very own recycling program.
Once you’ve stepped inside this eco-friendly utopia, you’ll be privy to a vibrant explosion of local Lisbon vintage finds and collections from every era, all passed down from the Portuguese community.
The cherry on top? Due to the area and local clientele, the prices are crazily affordable compared to other vintage shops in Lisbon, so you can enjoy a guilt-free retail therapy sesh — both for your wallet and the planet!

Stepping into Reuse is akin to embarking on a tantalizing secondhand treasure hunt. With the shop somehow someway mastering coupling a high-quality selection of vintage goodies with the glorious unpredictability that thrift shopping is known for.
Dresses from the yesteryears, runway-ready blazers, timeless trousers – you name it, they’ve got it, just waiting to be discovered and loved again.

And lastly, we’ll end in the heart of the eclectic Mouraria district, at Tropical Bairro – Vintage & Record Shop.
