The Best Brunch & Breakfast Spots in Clerkenwell, London

1. Granger & Co. Clerkenwell
50 Sekforde St., London EC1R 0HA
Have you ever dreamed of going to Australia? Well, with brunch at Granger & Co. you can get pretty close.
With a bright and refreshing menu and easy going ambience, dining here will have your taste buds feeling like they’re on holiday down under.
Creator and owner Bill Granger, was named ‘Egg Master of Sydney’ by the New York Times, so its only right to try a dish from Eggs section of the menu.
Bite into the mouthwatering Chilli Fried Egg on Brioche, with a Watercress and Tamarind Plum Chutney, and your choice of Bacon or Halloumi. Or, go classic with Two Eggs (poached, soft-boiled, or sunny side) served on a Toasted Dusty Knuckle Sourdough.
Like any place in London, booking is recommended, but they do save a handful of tables set aside just for walk-ins.
So, if you’re getting peckish on a morning stroll through Clerkenwell, I suggest checking them out.
P.S. – The full breakfast menu is only served until noon, but the ‘classics’ section on the lunch menu has some breakfast favourites & is served until 5pm!
2. The Clerkenwell Kitchen
27, 31 Clerkenwell Close, London EC1R 0AT
Serving up a wholesome experience, The Clerkenwell Kitchen is providing an organic breakfast experience you can feel good about.
With locally sourced ingredients and seasonal dishes, there will be no brunchers remorse here. Although…is that really ever a thing?
The breakfast menu is a simple yes, but the prices are stunning. Indulge in Poached Eggs on Toast for only £4.80, or enjoy a classic Sausage Sandwich for just £5.00.
Pair this all up with a cup of tea or coffee from their drinks menu, and if you’re keen, add in a cheeky splash of Oat Milk.
3. Niche Gluten Free Dining
197-199 Rosebery Ave, London EC1R 4TJ
Calling all people who eat gluten-free! Finally there’s a place you can go to enjoy a meal stress-free.
At Niche, long gone are the days of having to ask if the dish you’ve been eyeing on the menu is actually gluten-free. They’re London’s first 100% Gluten Free restaurant and Grade A, Coeliac UK Accredited.
Enjoy the flavours of the Parmesan & Cheddar Doughnuts, which are just waiting to be dipped in the Heritage Tomato & Red Pepper Dip, or bite through a slightly toasted Sourdough Bun into a Smokey Burger, topped with all the best burger condiments.
And of course, you can’t leave before having a taste of their Triple Chocolate Mousse.
4. Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings
42 Northampton Rd, London EC1R 0HU
If you’re a foodie like myself, I can confidently say Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings is the brunch oasis we’ve all been searching for.
With four different weekend brunch variations, they not only have a great classic brunch menu — but three of the best bottomless brunch choices in Clerkenwell.
As a baseline, every brunch option comes with your choice of two brunch dishes, but the drink selection is where it gets fun.
Choose from the Classic Bottomless for £39.50 where you’re welcomed with unlimited Bloody Marys or Bellinis, or if you want something a little more, the Bottomless Fizz for £42.50 adds unlimited Spritz to your options.
Lastly, for £44.50 you can enjoy brunch with never-ending Fizz – ‘cue the unlimited Prosecco’.
5. Smiths of Smithfield
67-77 Charterhouse St, London EC1M 6HJ
Every Saturday the rooftop bar at Smiths of Smithfield transforms into a luxury brunch paradise and is boujee London at its best.
Indulge the exquisite flavours of Tempura Soft Shell Crab, Dry Cured Coppa Ham, or Citrus Cured Salmon on Toast topped with Avocado, Chilli, and a Poached Egg from either of two the set menus.
Although both menus are serving up the same dishes, the difference lies in the unlimited options.
The first one is £65pp, allowing you to enjoy 120 minutes of unlimited Prosecco, whereas the £80pp menu keeps your glass full with unlimited Champagne, and adds the cheeky addition of a caviar canapé.
Whichever you choose is bound to have you enjoying one of the best brunches in Clerkenwell.
6. Caravan
11-13 Exmouth Market, London EC1R 4QD
Known for their freshly roasted coffee, Caravan also has a great brunch menu.
With a variety of vegetarian too, like a Poached Cacklebean Egg, the Veggie Fry, or the Charred Field and Oyster Mushrooms — they’re a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a vegetarian brunch in Clerkenwell.
Also, if you fancy — why not make your brunch boozy by ordering one of their many cocktails, or if you just want something fun to sip on, switch it up with a glass of kombucha, pressed juices, or milk.
P.S. – Brunch is only served on the weekends & until 4pm!
7. Morito
32 Exmouth Market, London EC1R 4QE
Who said you can’t do brunch Spanish Tapas Style?
This classic Tapas Bar is perfect if you’re looking for yummy and plentiful plates in a cozy restaurant.
Morito offers a range of tasty tapas from classic Pan con Tomate (tomato bread YUM) to a Spiced Lamb with Aubergine, Pomegranate, and Pine Nuts.
With each new plate, you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported right into a restaurant on the cobblestone streets of Spain. Also, their Salt Cod Croquetas are a must.
P.S. – They work on a walk in only basis and only take bookings for parties of 6 or more.
8. The Great Chase
316 St John St, London EC1V 4NT
With inclusion close to its heart, The Great Chase aims to be an eatery that everyone in London can enjoy and experience a fine dining experience.
They have also curated their menus to accommodate everyone no matter their beliefs, dietary restrictions, or preferences.
Their brunch menu has imaginative dishes like the Tiger Prawn Shakshuka with Baked Eggs, Sumac, Coriander, and Buckwheat or a Pickled Watermelon, Avocado, Quinoa, Rocket and Pistachio…to name a few.
Not technically brunch, but their weekend roast menu deserves a mention, each is served with classic sides — all day.
9. Par
115 St John St, London EC1V 4JA

It’s clear the original owner enjoyed two things here, breakfast and golf. And by 1991 when the shop shifted ownership, the name Par had already stuck.
A classic Full English is always on the menu here, accompanied by only the basics — crusty toast, scrambled eggs, porridge, and specials depending on the food in season.
Long story short, this local Hammersmith brunch spot is perfect if you’re craving a classic, no frills breakfast.
10. Coin Laundry
70 Exmouth Market, London EC1R 4QP
The laidback vibes of Coin Laundry fit perfectly with its cool name. The restaurants interior is decorated with cozy leather couches, modern metal tables and vintage wooden chairs and the open kitchen emanates lucious smells of yummy Hammersmith brunch being cooked.
With a slew of savory choices like their Yellow Pea Hummus, Red Onion & Caper Relish on a grilled sourdough, or the delicious Padron Peppers (both of which are vegan!) there’s also a great meal and great vibes to be had here.
P.S. – This isn’t brunch related, but if you love burgers like me, you have to check out their Burger Night each Wednesday where you can enjoy a Coin Laundry house cheeseburger — along with your favourite condiments, a side of fries & a house drink for £18.
